Tatics
I am just wondering for those of us who have some of the cards. What are some of your favorite tatics to use?
So far I think one of the best skills to build up is of course tatics, extra movement and earlier attacks are just awesome.

Personally, I want to do the attacking instead of getting attacked. Anything you can to to get your troops to attack in an earlier phase may be the biggest factor to winning. Lastly is movement points. If you've got to tread through 3 movement point terrain for more than 2-3 turns, you're falling behind........
Lastly, protect your hero! All the bonuses he confers to his troops dissapear when he dies.......

These are good tips, but beginning tips. Building a deck to defeat this strategy is not that hard. Lets say I include say 4 Angels or Phoenixes in my deck and fly them off as a group, hiding behind mountains and/or water. I can then fly them in and assassinate your tactics hero. I then lose my level 4s but, without your hero, the rest of my army catches up to you quickly and dispatches you with little effort.

Lets say you move 7 spaces per turn and I only move 4. We have both leveled up 4 times. I have learn basic Nature Magic and Advanced Death Magic and Just Basic Tactics. You start with a Tactics hero and learn your way up to Grand Master tactics. I learn the Mire spell (level 2), the Curse Spell, and the Pathfinding (level 1) spell. I reduce you to 1/2 your normal speed, and ignore all movement penalties. Then you can't get me, but I can get you, so I get to be the aggressor, cast curse on your most powerful stack, and proceed to slaughter you mercilessly.

The list goes on....

THIS GAME IS SO AWSOME! That is precisley what makes this game so phenomenal. You have layers upon layer of possible strategies. From the tile(s) you select to the ground you hope to have to attack on/defend from, to spell use and army configuration to complimentary skills or skills that strengthen natural weaknesses...it just does go on and on and on ......
Thank you Jonathan for bringing this game to the masses!
