I dislike the number of "details" that they are incorporating in the creatures costumes. Heroes 4 was a little too plain, but the costumes are way too "extravagant" to MY taste in HOMM IV. Imho, the costume helps to define a characteristic from a creature. For instance, it is hard to imagine a priest without the robe (or some clothes that cover a big part of the body). The Titan should look more imponent (like a semi-god) and less "funny".
Of course, you can (and you have the right to do it) think different. Those differences help to create a better game. Stop reading a forum of ideas because someone is too "negative" (in other words, thinks different from you) is a little too extreme to me. I admit I was a little hard with the words, and for that I am sorry. But the line they are following could make me decide to not buying the game. As anyone else, I wait (for more than a year) for a game that should be better than any HOMM before. But I still have faith...

i think the giant in the h3 intro video looked perfect (you know the one stepping on some harpies, and got killed by a black dragon)
the titan in h4 is just silly, why would an all-concquering-fearless giant wear a full visor? what's he got to be afraid of.

analysis
the Heroees II Titans are quite funny,really..The Heroes III ones are quite something,but its that armor..they look like Roman Legionaries,in 4 that Titan look like Hercules or Zorro,in V,its unseen,mysterious..but ready to strike you down with a lightning.i like the one from 5,i know its black like a shadow,but it looks cool.

Sorry, I didn't see this thread earlier! If I were to compare all the titans I've seen, I'd have to go with the upgraded version from Heroes III. I've thought about the Heroes V version of the Titan and it has got me thinking, "What will it use for it's melee?". I for one didn't like the fact that all it did was a punch in Heroes IV rather than swipe at it with a sword in Heroes III (and Heroes II?). The sword that the Titan had in Heroes III looked as if it were created from lightning.
"Looks like I don't have a sword, I'm going to die! Wait, perhaps my helm will protect me!"
"Anyone see my brother? He looks like me except he's big and he wears feathers. He looks just like that shadow... right next to you!"

Someone thinking different to you doesn't mean its negative. What if YOU think the titan is bad and THEY think that its good, they think differently but not negatively.

H4 titan looks best.
He doesn't have piss-colored clothing like H3 one has. The color of piss doesn't mean something is pretty. Alchemists used to think it does. That's why they thought they could extract gold from piss.
He doesn't look old and weak like H3 one does.
He looks like someone I wouldn't like to meet in a dark avenue. It has an aura of strenght, not of "WTF is this?"
He doesn't need a sword if he can throw lighning bolts. Besides, sword is best used against enemies of similar size. Few creatures are as big as titan, it would look just stupid. (see H4 main menu screen for reference)
In general, while many H4 creatures look bad, Titan isn't among them. Historically, many Heroes cratures tried to inspire awe by colorful, striking, (especially piss-colored) clothing. The H4 titan does that by just looking mean.

Well that's what I guess the flat side of the sword would be used for, but I guess you can do something better like punching pixies (yes like the Heroes IV Titan). If I were to suggest anything... stomping or slamming with the flat side of the sword would be more effective.

HoMM4 titan is a joke... HoMM5 version on the other hand... you can feel the power... can hear the cracking of electricity around... you look at it and go "frell this! i am outta here!"

 H3 Titan (not Giant, I mean Titan) is the BEST! The glorious Golden Armor, the brilliant Lightning Sword, just wonderful!
H3 Titan is an upgraded version, in image quality, of H2 Titan, while the concept remains the same --- the first several generations of Olympia Gods, indeed Zeus is a Titan!
 H4 Titan is a joke, something full of muscle but lacks a shiny set of armor and weapon. The strange helmet makes them look like a footman, but without a sword.
H5 Titan, very unfornately, is merely a hybrid of H4 Golem Dragon and H4 Titan --- a Golem Titan. They lost their divine identity, their pride. They are no longer the proud guardians patrolling the Tower walls. They are golems, the word 'Titan' is used only to describe their size, not their personality. What a shame!

Yes...it might look a little inexperienced,but it's helmet has been removed,with it's armor,so it should make him a bit more though on the battlefield,and this time it is a creation,not a god
