Quote: When you say CC you mean crimson and clover right?
So it IS an open map and therefor letting someone build dimension door is asking for punishment.
Anyway the map is never played anyway except when Frank and I play it vs each other.
It is always fun to see what a smart opponent will bring to the middle.
And how the losing hero recovers (if he does).
-Mocara
No, it is not crimson and clover, of curse. Have you seen already someone surviving enough on cc to get dim door?! lol
It is one of the series cc from allied maps, closed map with 12 angels between players, so dim door is too usefull.
The name is crisscross.

Narh.
Wasnt it behemoths and hydraes that guarded the middle on cc2?
And I just played cc5, lol. There it was a giant undead army guarding middle, but oh well, what can u expect when theres made like 7 different versions

nice gesture
I wasn`t given much break in my HOMM career but I remember one that I`d like to mention. I don`t remember the map name but it was a 2x2 Salamandre and I against Jb239 and Yawacko. It was during the time when the fifth slot was a bug. 1.3 ? 1.2 ? Anyway on my turn I fight for the recanter`s cloak or the schakles, don`t remember, something usefull anyhow so I end my turn only to realise during Yawacko`s turn what had happened to my usefull artifacts. I didn`t know if jb239 had forgive me for the repetitive chain lightining on his diplomate hero on me vs you so I almost didn`t dare to ask if we could reload so that I can pick the art with an open slot. Salamandre felt it was good reason enough to ask and they allowed me to redo my turn. It was nice.

Played some pretty nice games wif the Ozzies: Midnight Wraith and Rychenroller. Altough I have a natural dislike to those rude b*st*rds, have to say they play a fair and honerable game.
One thing I also like is fanatism, when the game asks for it. I like it when people don't give wins or losses away. Kerberos_Gr once let me off the hook in a rdm game where I was extremely unlucky. It was a friendky gesture, but it gave a bad feeling afterwards. I was actually glad I lost the next game to him.
i.m.o. the tournament is to play for points and I like it when it's competative. I always want to know who's the best and TOH gives a pretty good idea about that.
Would like to hear oppinions about that.

Titan_888 nice guy
Titan_888 was not able to make it to a game we had scheduled. Bummer, but "life" gets in the way of our fun sometimes eh?
It was a very nice gesture when later on that day I received and email with an appology and request for working out another time. Good that a more serious life circumstance was not at fault.
I appreciated hearing from you Titan and it would be nice if we could all immulate your manners.
Thanks again,

Hmmm, I'd like to put myself on that list too
I reckon I'm a pretty honourable player LMAO!
Sometimes I could kick myself for it though. I did a xl random with under once and I pretty much lost the game in the second week and I knew it. Still though, I stuck it out lost my main hero three times more over the coming weeks and by the time the 4th month arrived (ten hours later), I was pretty much a sitting duck. I knew that the game was most likely a loss and only some freak occurence of luck was going to save my hide from the guy who had 400 evil eyes and 1500 trogs with 80 somthing minotaur kings and expert wisdom with 30 spell power, LOL.
I lost that game, but I felt good about it because I could have given in on the third week. Even though I spent ten hours trying to fly (come on! You've all flapped your wings before when you stood on top of a wall!). I gave it my all, I gave the other player a worthy game (I hope) and although I guess I lost hope, I never quit.
The show ain't over til the fat man sings!

well, the following story isn't so great, I guess. Anyway, this thread deserves to be at the top for awhile.. I'm sure there are people out there with better stories.
It was on Boomerang against donaldfriend, all random.. only rule: no hit and run. He got tower and Neela (I think), I found myself with Fortress and Solmyr. Somewhat week 2, our mains met in the middle, I attacked.. chain lightninged like hell.. maybe 4 rounds.. I only had 2 hydras & some bums left, his golems would win the battle... so I thought it was a good time to leave, asking if he would consider it as hit and run... all he said was: no, good move! of course I didn't consider it as h&r, too, but my point is that I've had another game when I was called a cheater after leaving in a similar situation.
After all, losing that game in a cyclops stockpile a few turns later didn't feel so bad then

Just the little things I like, for example playing someone you have never played, and getting a thoroughly enjoyable game out of it. i did this the other day with stuff, never played him, had a great game, now he needs to get his revenge

reply to deth8 and frank
hi deth8.
i think most toh players have felt on their body how it feels to be abbandoned in a scheduled game.. Isnt there anything worse than just sit and wait and feel that "nahh, i wont start new game, if he shows up 5 min. after". I have tryed that on myself and it caused me confusion about my appeareance in toh. But in otherhand, it was the cause to remind myself in situations where i couldnt show up. It takes few minutes to write a mail, but for the receiver of the mail it means LOOOT more.
I saw someting about Crimson & Clover mentioned in this thread and then i saw a post by frank. It reminded me of a game with you frank on CC. All i must say and think i have said before but now i use the opportunity to appoligize for my behavior. I reacted like a stupid child. sorry.

lmao
what have i done.... not only causing the DD to be removed from a map but also cause so much pain for sala
J/K
But hey... By removing this and that from the game just shows how much the tactical player wins every time. I mean thoose people who uses hours on planning their strategy and makes sure that on the map allmost all eventually luck is removed. Hmm, well hit and run is not honorable, using DD is not honorable, Getting a black in refugee on bfh is lucky and a winner, Armageddon should not be in guild, Fly really sucks, No Diplomacy No logistic No level 4 hero, no this no that. All thoose people who started this, are they the ones on top of TOH? or was it the players that just wanted to play fun ? hehe
i just say Homm3 wasnt build for TOH season 3 i say, people simply just hate so many things and now turned it into a question about who is honorable and who is not.....

Free Wins/pass...
Howdy All:-))
A little note to Phantom1500..
As u all prolly have seen, Phantom gave me a pass in KoR coz he didnt have time to play, But I insicted on playing him, I too didnt want a "free" win/pass in that tourney. I think they have but alot of efforts and work into that tourney. Im on my way to loose, but thats another story:-))
My first game wiff Phantom turned out to be a great game where i learned ALOT from this great ppl. But I agree with all of u, whats a free win/points, if the game never got finished??!!
Greetings UT :-))Quote: I appriecate that
I am just glad you arent like the last guy I gave a free victory to in the first week. He zm's me everytime I enter the zone now wanting another one. I am also glad you didnt actually want the win cause I would have given it. I think that sayz something about urself
I dont understand how the poor guy i gave that free win to can derive any enjoyment out of getting a victory in the first week on hg2, same with a division that was overjoyed when I decided not to play...
Personally I dont find it that fun when an opponent tells me that he killed himself, and the game is over. Next time that happens I think I will take leason from this topic and tell him to replay their turn differently, so I can kill em instead

Titan well atleast you mastered my map for our division war You certainly taught me a thing or two. I was so blown away at the severity that u played at and the skill level
Next time you wont get so lucky because probably we are gonna play in Homm4 and maps will be very unknown to us and then we will see your tactics then

If being honorable means making allowances for your opponent's mistakes, then call me dishonorable.
While growing up and playing cards," A card laid is a card played!!" became an all too-familiar mantra. That became especially when Magic: The Gathering came out.
When I learned to play chess I was taught that if you remove your hand from your piece after you've moved it--that's it. Your turn is done. I cannot tell you how frustrated I felt, when playing an opponent, to hear him beg me to take back his move after he saw me about to pounce on him. More often than not I'd agree but my contempt for those opponents grew.
Part of excellence in a game involves making fewer mistakes than your opponent. I say, "Suck it up and learn for the next time." You learn from your mistakes more than you do from success anyway.

The gootch, you should enter in gouvernement, not humour there.
Read better, players allow replay turn only after bugs/stupid errors like wrong click, etc. And if more than this, that means you play a really friend, and this can not be judged.
