creature stats
Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone has posted this kind of info yet. I'm trying to compare costs/HPs/damage stats for the creatures. It all started with the question: how much power can you buy a week, or what's the cost of the healh one can buy a week. The results are not very accurate (due to the inherent complexities of this game) and suggestions, corrections and feedback is greatly appreciated.
Data was extracted from www.heroesofmightandmagic.com (a great site indeed).
---------------------------------------
These stats do not include special resource costs, all include castle growth rate plus special buildings
growth. Grail and external dwellings growth not included.
All creatures are upgraded.
Weekly cost of troops
(less is better)
rank Town Gold
1 Stronghold 24,530
2 Rampart 26,620
3 Fortress 26,660
4 Necropolis 26,920
5 Dungeon 27,205
6 Inferno 28,090
7 Castle 29,580
8 Tower 30,800
Weekly hit points (HP)
(more is better)
rank Town HPs
1 Rampart 2,650
2 Tower 2,420
3 Stronghold 2,370
4 Fortress 2,290
5 Castle 2,245
6 Dungeon 2,202
7 Necropolis 2,192
8 Inferno 2,035
Weekly cost/HP ratio
(less is better)
rank Town Gold/1HP
1 Rampart 10.045
2 Stronghold 10.350
3 Fortress 11.642
4 Necropolis 12.281
5 Dungeon 12.355
6 Tower 12.727
7 Castle 13.176
8 Inferno 13.803
-------------------------------------
There's also a non-upgraded non-castle section. Again, special resources are not counted, but this time there's no castle growth (just basic fort) and also no special growth from buildings (no cages, no griffin bastion, so on).
Weekly cost of troops
(less is better)
rank Town Gold
1 Stronghold 8,550
2 Rampart 9,740
3 Inferno 9,750
4 Tower 9,800
5 Fortress 10,025
6 Necropolis 10,210
7 Dungeon 10,390
8 Castle 10,540
Weekly hit points (HP)
(more is better)
rank Town HPs
1 Rampart 1,052
2 Castle 1,035
3 Fortress 1,023
4 Tower 978
5 Dungeon 926
6 Necropolis 918
7 Stronghold 910
8 Inferno 904
Weekly cost/HP ratio
(less is better)
rank Town Gold/1HP
1 Rampart 9.259
2 Stronghold 9.396
3 Fortress 9.800
4 Tower 10.020
5 Castle 10.184
6 Inferno 10.785
7 Necropolis 11.122
8 Dungeon 11.220
I'm not sure about how I can post images, but this format should be good enough.
I'll leave the conclusions for you. Some are obvious, while I think some are a bit of a surprise.
I'll be back with some damage calculations.

The problem is that the costs are not really success determined. Thats why those calculations only lead to nonsense.
The best way to compare each towns maybe is to compare a real 3 weeks creatures production healthpoint and their damage potential. Still there are far too many other influences to calculate which town is really the best.

Xarfax is right here.
This game just is NOT that simple. You canīt leave out the specialities of the towns, like necromancy or hoarding demons. You have to consider the building order of each town. You will do hard to build level 7 unit early in dragon towns, but could do that much easier with stronghold or fortress.
Those rankings only lead to wrong conclusions, especially when read by new players.

Sorry, I didn't mean to really 'rank' the towns, I wanted to rank my (imperfect) results. I know that my approach is very simplistic, I just wanted to compare lets say one week worth of full creatures. That implies that all the buildings are built, which takes a lot of time and resources. I guess most of the games will end way before you build all and every structure in your town.
The image I was thinking of is very simplistic: what if you face an opponent's week army with your own week army (heroes statistics and specialties not included).
With this data I'm not trying to say that one town is best, as you said, the specialties of each town are unique and I think they cannot be measured. I was merely interested in comparing some figures.
My idea was: what is the maximum output (of health/money/power) that one town can produce each week.
But what I do believe, is that lets say you don't farm skellies or demons (for whatever reasons), then Necropolis and Inferno could have a slight disadvantage.
Other conclusions is the higher price of Tower creatures, but all these facts I think were already known.
So please don't take this data as proof that one town is better than others.
I guess that my second post (with damages) will be even more biased, but I'll just go on and post it sometime later today.
Thanks for replies and lemme know if I should stop posting data, as I really don't want new players to get wrong impressions.

...oh geez stop spreading this nonsense.
The first Homepage u linked says that demoniacs can get necromancy...the second ranked Moos as third in their class.
Those pages are made by offliners that know nada about Heroes 3. Only because they made some huge Homepages doesnt make it better. The info u can get from there is just wrong and doesnt help u if u want to get better.
