Heroes 5 Music
This might be old news so if it is just go ahead and delete it, but:
One of the most appealing aspects of HOMM to me is the great music that Rob King put into it. I had to chance to talk with him (via message board) fairly recently and according to him, everything is running smoothly for heroes 5 and he is very optimistic about the whole thing.
I complemented him on the good job he did with the series and this was his reply,
"Thanks! Great to hear you like the stuff! Paul Romero and I have been hard at work on the score for H5 which is close to wrapping up. My favorites are the Haven & Academy Theme for H5. The Siege and combat themes are really sounding good for this game. Probably the best combat music for any Heroes game to date. Hopefully you will enjoy it!
Rob King"
That's about all the info I have right now. I know that there are people with Beta Versions of 5 but I don't know if they have the music on it or not. If so what do you think of it? (Or are you not allowed to discuss it?)

H5 Music
Indeed, beta testers are not allowed to speak of anything concerning the beta due to the non-disclosure agreement. It is good news that you were able to speak with Rob King about the current iterations of legendary Heroes music.
Rob used to post here under the name of 'HeroesMusicMan' back when Heroes IV was being released, but to say that the combat music is the best of the series is extremely uplifting. The mere fact that the same team have completed the music for Heroes V will ensure that Heroes will keep an authentic feel, even if it is only in the musical department.
While the fact that the Heroes Music team was to be kept for Heroes V, Rob's personal opinion about his favourite themes and the quality of the combat themes is new information. I personally will find it hard for anything to beat one of the Heroes II combat themes, but now I have something to compare it to. The HC Menu plays random Heroes II music themes everyday.
Another new piece of information, if it can be deciphered in this manner: "the siege and combat themes". Now if he means that there will be two separate themes, or he is talking about the same theme (the more likely occurence) remains to be seen.
Regardless, thanks for posting this information, but unfortunately nothing can be revealed about the beta to the general public - but at least you know it is ready and it is apparently just as good as the previous series'.

La la ra ra ra la ....
I played Heroes so much that even when I was not playing I was singing the songs at loud without knowing I was doing it....
I hope the new ones are better than the (real good) music from the previous versions...

I always liked the town music from Heroes 2, especially the Warlock town, which starts with some nifty fanfare. The Barbarian town also has some nice vocals...heck they all have nice vocals!
Heroes 3 was not as noticeable, but I liked the music at the end of a battle, when you won. Very dramatic.
I was glad the operatic style reappeared in heroes 4. Someof the towns have some really good music. I liked the Haven and Asylum the most.
Although this is a lot coming from me, since I am hard of hearing. It means I have to turn the music up a bit to hear it, but I like it anyway.

They need more of the town themes.
Although the Limited edition of HoMM 5 in the States/Canada comes with the soundtrack, so I'm willing to forgive that.

Rob King's music has been excellent and I love where it is going. I am an especially big fan of his Heroes III score and I love the Heroes V score as well. Tradition with music is very significant in games as it makes a game series much more enjoyable when the music is upgraded but still contains the same familiar melodies or themes (same melody in a grander style). That hasn't happened yet with Heroes (although I am only truly familiar with Heroes III music) but the music portrays very much the same idea when you compare Heroes III and V scores. The battle music has been upgraded very nicely and I look forward to the new set of music that is to come with the add-on.
Perhaps in Heroes VI themes from Heroes III and V will be evident on a much grander scale (maybe even combined).

Sylvan has the best music ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111oneone
Simply unmatchable. About every town has a completely different type of music. Sylvans have the (AWESOME) tribal music, haven has some sort of opera (I guess), academy has oriental music, everything fits perfectly (except dungeon theme which sucks).
I don't have the expansion, hope the dwarves got some heavy metal theme... It's not like it wouldn't fit
