ICTC: Shiro
Town Name: Shiro
Country Name: The Chrysantemum Empire
Common Names: the False Empire (by Haven), the East Empire (by everyone else).
Race Name: Nipponjin
Common Names: the Infidels (by Haven), the Eastmen, the Islanders (by everyone else).
Hero: Daimyo
Unique Ability: Withdrawal (Hero retreats with a small amout of his army - from 10% creatures of first and second level up to 50% of creatures of all levels on ultimate level of ability. Hero cannot surrender.)
Race Description: The Nipponjin are very similiar to humans in their look. They're shorter than avarage man, they have yellowish skin colour and are slant-eyed. They also tend to have black hair.
Some belive that the Nipponjin aren't separate race, but rather are human 'sub-race'. In Haven's opinion, Nipponjin's appearance is an effect of the holy curse caused by their heresies. The Academy Wizards suggest that this is the case of some ancient and powerfull magic, probably on the Elemental (or even Primordial) Dragons' level.
Worship: The Nipponjin doesn't have prefered Patriarch and treat each of primordial dragons as equal. They also belive that all dragons are just shards of a greater entity - Ryuuou (the Dragon King). They also believe that spirits of their ancestors watch them and guide them in their lives. The Emperor himself is belived to have Ryuuou's blood in his veins and to have mastered the ability to communicate with spirits, thus he is titled God-Emperor. Spirits of people of great virtues are belived to be granted by Ryuuou with the bodies of Kirin, thus reincarnating as his children.
Tactic: The Nipponjin prefere 'hit-and-run' tactic and guerilla warfare. Their units are fast and strike hard, but have low defences. They specialise in hiding and tactical retreating. They always wait for perfect time to come and strike from the shadows on the weakest spot.
Symbols:
Sun behind the island;
Imperial Seal (Silver chrysantemom with sixteen petals).
Clors: Red (color of rising sun), White (color of the spirits) and Silver (color of the Emperor).
Political Situation:
Allies: none
Friends: Academy, Necropolis
Neutral: Sylvan, Dungeon
Enemies: Inferno
Arch-enemies: Haven
######History######
3 YSD - BIRTH OF THE FALCON EMPIRE
Falcon the Great unifies the human kingdoms (founding the empire that will one day become the Haven faction). The Seventh Dragon prophesies that the Falcon line shall endure as long as the world does.
The nipponjin are between those humans.
48 YSD - THE FALCON EMPIRE BECOMES THE "HOLY" FALCON EMPIRE
– Founding of the Free Cities of the East
Emperor Brian Falcon gives absolute power to the Church of the Dragon of Light. The Human kingdom is renamed "Holy Falcon Empire". Dissent grows among many citizens who resent being forced to abandon the Dragon of Air. Many will leave the Empire's territory to found the Free Cities of the East.
- Sailing the Seas
The nipponjin decide to leave the continent and sail east. They find an archipelago east to Free Cities, where they settle.
51 YSD - VISIONS OF AMATERASU
Many people of East Archipelago journey to the high mountains in order to meditate. One of them is an orphan called Amaterasu. After years of meditation in mountains, he creates the theory of Ryuuou - the Dragon King, the perfect balance between Chaos and Law. Soon he menages to achieve a spiritual link with both Primordial Dragons. Neither of them confirms his words, but both of them claim to be the one who created him. When the link breaks, Amaterasu starts to having strange dreams, bringing him visions of East Archipelago united into a single Empire. He begins his journey to the leaders of clans all over the archipelago.
56 YSD - FOUNDATION OF THE EAST EMPIRE
-The Language of Spirits
After five years of journey, Amaterasu gathers 16 leaders in the city of Taka. While the leaders debate, Amaterasu - already called the Great Prophet - hides up in high mountains. During the two weeks of negotiations in Taka, he learns and masters skill of talking to spirits, but he can't find any of his own ancestors. He passes his knowladge to a group of eager adepts, but none of them masters it to the level of Amaterasu.
-Silver Chrysantemum
Leaders of clans decide to unite under the rule of the Great Prophet. They secretly order the best craftsman to create Imperial Seal - silver chrysantemum with sixteen petals - symbol of sixteen leaders united under Emperor's rule. When Amaterasu recives the Seal, he realises that he can't decline. He becomes the First Emperor of the Chrysantemum Empire, with capitol city of Taka.
103 YSD - THE END OF THE FIRST AGE (THE AGE OF SPIRITS)
Emperor Amatersu (now known as God-Emperor) dies at the age of seventy. The sixteen clan leaders start to debate over the succession. The only child of God-Emperor gones missing, rumored to be captured by vile Shinobi.
103 - 108 YSD - THE WAR OF SIXTEEN
Great civil war between sixteen clan leaders shatters the whole empire into the fractions. Most of the original leaders are assassinated, and they territories divide to smaller and smaller parts.
108 YSD - EMPIRE REUNITED
Amaterasu's son, Ieyasu, returns, leading the army of Toorima and riding on Kirin. He reunites all the factions, but decides not to restore the sixteen sub-countries system. He replaces it with a system of sixty-six provinces, each one governed by the Daimyo.
He also writes the "Art of Law", the book containing all laws of empire. It also states, that the country will forever be ruled by the descendants of Amaterasu, titled God-Emperors, and the Counsil of Sixteen, a gatherning of sixteen most powerful Daimyo.
The Age of Unity begins.
450 YSD - EMPIRE OPENS
Emperor Mutsusnowo decides to open the borders of the empire. The envoys are send to all known countries. Seven Citites, Free Cities of East and Sylvan elves each agreed to establish embassies. Envoy sent to the Holy Falcon Empire never returns. This is the true begining of the conflict between the two empires.
This events mark the end of the Age of Unity and the beginning of the Age of Conflict.
450 - 843 - AGE OF CONFLICT
This is a time of numerous smaller and larger wars and conflicts between the Empires. There were never a full-scale war, because of hudge distance and Free Cities of East laying between the Empires. However, few small outposts are created both on the Archipelago and the continent by both sides.
843 - 844 - FALCON'S BURIAL (End of Age of Conflict)
Massacre of royal family crates vulnerable spot for the Chrysantemum Empire to strike. To prevent this, Emperor Griffin decides for temporary non-agression agreement. The East Empire agrees, but all Haven troops have to be withdrawn from the Chrysantemum Empire. The continental outposts are also abandoned by Nipponjin, but this is only official version. Truly, whole legions of Ninja stay in country, preparing the spy network for the war.
The Age of Waiting Begins.
845 - THE SECRET SOCIETY
The Ninja start to make deals with necromancers. While the Chrysantemum Empire can't agree for a conflict between the Necropolis and the Academy, all actions of Necromancers in Griffin Empire are strongly supported. Secretly, of course.
969 - THE RIGHT TIME TO STRIKE
125 years after the first trmporary treaty, the ambassadors of both Empires will gather to negotiate the terms of 6th treaty for another 25 years. At least, they're supposed to do this. But the God-Emperor seeing the emerging conflict decides to declare open war.
The Age of Chaos begins...

But please, don't say things like 'in Fact in Japan during medieval period...'. This is no Japan medieval faction. This is my own faction BASED on Japan's past, as I know it both from facts and from fiction.
Good to see it. Our town are based on different type of creatures and possibly different history so not to worry.

Thanks Oak, too much HTML for me
@gwyndolium: Well, if I'd use, say, monsters from Welsh mythology, people would understand even less
Whats important is that names should be not too long and not too complex. But if someone has an idea for better names, feel free to post it. Change is always possible.

I'll try to find some pictures and attach it, so everyone could see it at the first glance.
And Shinobi is well-known in world by the name of Ninja.

Nearly finished with creatures.
Need some help on Yamabushi's spells.
Current list of possibilities contains:
-Bloodlust
-Bless
-Stone Skin
-Prayer
(All spells need to be body/spirit related)
I hope the open beta will reveal most of the spells. It will be much easier to decide knowing what spells are in and what aren't.
EDIT: Also, the first part of history is up! Enjoy!

Race(4+3 )=7
History(3 +4 )=7
Creatures(3 +5 )=8
Balance( 3+2 )=5 1,2,3 all walkers, then 4,5,6 all shooters
Originality=7
Level seven creature is a can of beer? No, heh heh. The main problem with this is it needs more supernatural weirdness to fit in with the HOMM5 universe. Like the daughters of Inugami or something.
Total Score= 34
How I graded these:
Race (Originality [1-5]+Compatibility with HOMM5 universe[1-5])
History (How interesting is it to me [1-5] +Compatibility with HOMM5 universe [1-5])
Creatures (Originality [1-5] +Internal Consistency [1-5])
Balance (are the special skills inventive [1-5] + Does it have a variety of flyers, shooters, walkers, spell-casters [1-5]
Originality (all the originality scores added up and divided by two. This means that creativity counts twice. [1-10])

I´m afraid this is going to be one of the short reviews - but there are so many towns to rate.
I give you 5/10.
On the positive side, your town is internally consistent, it has an interesting history and some fine creatures, and you clearly has put a lot of work into it. On the negative side - it just isn´t heroes to me (and this count for a lot I´m afraid). It is too close to historical japan and too far from heroes mythology and fantasy IMHO. Had it been more consistent with heroes mythology, your great work of flavor and details would have earned you a much higher rating from me.
Best wishes.

Race:6(doesnt so fit well into heroes )
History:7(its quite good but didnt inspire me )
Creatures:7(The abilities are original but the names are hard to understand and get used to.Also not so interesting)
Balance:6(The abilities are interesting but that sneak is a bit of the edge. But the main problem is that two shooters lining at 4 and 5 and 3 foot troops at the bottom should be more uniform in my opinion also samurai should have been a bit higher level)
Originality:8(I think its orignal, some ideas deserve respect but the creatures are just not for heroes)

Race: 3

Creatures: 8
Balance: 9
Originality: 7
Total: 34
Comments: The race is really the only problem with the town. The similarities to a purely Japanese race are too prevalent: ‘Nipponjin = Nippon”, Tokugawa Ieyasu was an important figure in Japanese History, and the racial description and history where they settled in and eastern archipelago, a.k.a. Japan. The creatures also follow suit, which is good, but such a race doesn’t fit into the current Heroes scheme, especially since there is a race of humans already. Creatures are nicely balanced, and the abilities are creative. An original idea, which, unfortunately, doesn’t fit into the Heroes world.
