New rule for me - never expect to play on release day :/
Turns out the open beta starts on the 26th, and what happened last night was an "exclusive beta" for fileplanet subscribers.
Sure, I understand the marketing ploy of getting everybodys expectations up by saying that its open beta when its not, so that more people will feel a need to subscribe to fileplanet. Thats the way the business works, but I don't have to like it.
It's fairly self evident that an open beta is not an exclusive beta. The words open and exclusive are not really oppisites, but close. Exclusive means to exclude players, and open means to let everyone play.
Im happy that the delay is only 3 days, but if they wanted to be honest instead of doing market ploys, they would have said "an exclusive beta for fileplanet subscribers starts on the 23rd, and then the open beta starts on the 26th.
I wish that the regulations were harder on this point so that getting peoples hopes up would be legally binding so that game companies always had to follow through on what they promise. This would mean that they would become more careful with promises since they'd have to share the disappointment of their future customers, and everybody would be able to put more trust in what they actually promise.
I will still play the game, I just think it sucks that this is the way the game business works, and I hope that it would change to the better.

Well, I figured the beta thread would be about constrictive advive concerning the beta..
This is more like, me going into the tavern to explain how the beta hoax made me feel 
I guess I will be happy thursday tho, but I wanna play noooow! =(

Yea I was excited too until I read Teachers post about File planet sub only.
I was like Ah come on man lol.
Got me all excited since a week just to wait another few day lol.
Oh well only 2 now & it's not that bad, it could be worst.
Beta would be open only for subscribers

Dang, now I hear that the beta and most likely the finished game is gonna have hidden copyprotections that have caused problems for peoples computer in previous versions.
I'm not sure if I'm even gonna play this game.

You mean the infamous Starforce aka Starfarce ? There's been a lot of fuss about it in other forums, although most Ubi games have it...

to be honest I didn't have any problem with starforce during the closed beta... and either in this open beta...
