Impresion from the Beta Test
Just played the beta test !!!! The game is really nice though in the beta version there are only humans ! Who wants Hereos V look for it in bear share !!! If u don't have bear share u can get it from www.bearshare.com

Oh by the way who gets the game and play's it share youre impression !!!!!! Cuz i think is really a coooool game ! Suberb graphics couldn't test the sound because the small movie at the beginig hasn't got any ! The storyline ...... isn't very expilicit if u ask me cuz I really don't know who Isabel is!? the game is pretty hard and i love the castle buildings screen !Really nice !!!Well didn't got the change to finish the scenario cuz i just got the beta soo Hope u guys can get the game ! Sorry cuz the link doesn't work

well i think that the gameplay kinda suck..there isnt many ways u can play this game
basically u have to stick very closely to ur alignment (town) and thats basically ur playstyle... if u look closely there isnt really any difference in the playstyle of a Creature A speciality hero and Creature B speciality hero.. u just get the better skills thats all..most people wouldnt even think about getting +1000gold 1time bonus skill when u could get something like +10%offense or so

this game has a lot of tactical potential... for example the battlefield, is small I hope they can delay the game to fix it  ...

i already discussed my impressions about the open beta with LC on MSN, but id rather post a more detailed story here.
here goes.
First thing, i was a bit spooked by the secrecy in wich ubisoft decided to release the beta.i mean u need an username and a pass to play it, also for now it is available only in multiplayer mode.these will surely be fixed in the game.
ok now the impressions about the gam itself:
LC introduced me to the duel mode first.I think that was a bad start, because i had to deal with the worse thing in this open beta: the battlefield.
I may be called nostalgic, but the H3 hexgrid looked much better.The H5 battlefield is imho too small and unproportioned. the creatures (chaos hidras for exemple} are too big and the battlefield is too small.
Another unleasant surprise was the lack of a WAIT button in combat. I have seen this before in H2 and it was one of the great additions in H3.they changed the order in wich creatures move, it's not speed related, but initiative related as in Disciples 2 for exemple.I have no problems with that, but without a wait button the initiative thing is useless.
I will explain why:
because the battlefield si so small(i think it's 11/8 squares, but not that sure) the units have low speeds compared to H3. so no creature can reach the oponent round 1.so if u have the initiative and decide to move forward you can't attack no one, but instead u will be attacked by a high speed unit. this is exactly the oposite of the normal way this should be.The higher initiative creatures should be able to attack first, not the other way around.
Also about the battlescreen.In this mode(combat mode} you can really see the details(graphic wise). well some animations are too bombastic (archdevils moving, or meteor shower) and others are roughly finished(the gargoyle as a unit sucks graphic wise IMHO).
They have impemented a "special ability" button, which is cool, but as far as i have sen thse abilities aren't really balanced(not sure im right there}.
Ok this about sums up what i have learned in the duel mode.
About the adventure map, i have little to comment. It has good graphics and it's player friendly.
The town menu is also nice. What i don't like is that they didn't really put emhasis on the buildings, they all look as part as the same construction, so u cannot acces a certain building that easy(better consult the city plan)
The way th AI plays the battles is similar to H3 on 100% maybe lol. not that smart.
Bottom line i really think this game needs some time for the finishing touches(also for debugging) because if they release it as it is now it will be a dissapointment for many people.

This sounds really bad. I've just downloaded the beta but I don't think it's going to work on my machine (way too 'bottom-end'!). I certainly hope they sort it out. Apart from what you've said, being able to reach the other side in one go (Efreet Sultans, Silver Pegasi, Archangels, Arch Devils, some Dragons, Serpent Flies and possibly others - anyone know which? - in H3) adds some inidivduality too.

1. Yes wait mode would be nice
2. Yes, bigger battlefield for sure, and higher speed to match.
3. However, the game totally rocks!  It's alot like h3, the choices made in battle affects the outcome.. a good player can totally defeat a weak player even if he is outnumbered.
Shooters are a bit overpowered atm. Perhaps magic as well. Black dragons are awesome if you know how to use them. Balord are friggin nasty too, together with succubi. The titans are real nice, and well, they did a good job at the core.
If they just change the 3 things above it should be a good game.

Very good when it becomes to gameplay and graphics. Sound is al little less. And yes a lot of things still have te be done.
I hope they will make a good game in time.

I must explain how the defend buttom works... is not total implemented yet... if you double press "D" key... you will have some kind of wait command... the wait time to the next turn will half, and if you only press once the "D" then you will lose your turn and gain defense is the same if you move your crature, use an abilite or cast a spell.
With the new initiative system is hard to know which creature is the last in the turn, because every creature have different number of turns and that depends of the initiative.
For example the sprites have 6 speed and 14 initiave... and the treant have 5 speed and 7 initiative... that means that in one treand turn the sprite will have two turns... the sprite will move 6 squares, and the treand 5 squares ...
Another thing to be considered on this new system is the moral... the moral affect in a similar way than in heroes IV when a unit have high morale, then his next turn will be faster... I mean the wait time to the next turn will be smaller... and if you get bad moral then your next turn is retrased...

This is gay. I forgot my ubi.com accout name, and password. I can't create a new accout, because my e-mail (yahoo) account is already in use. They wont send me my password my mail, and if I try to change it (my password) I don't have permission because I'm not logged on.
I need serious help. Should I keep trying to use my account, or should I create a new E-Mail account, so I can create a new ubi account?

try this:
go to this page: https://secure.ubi.com/login/ForgotPassword.aspx
and then put your email, put your birthday and you will receive a email with instructions on how to get a new password...

Opinion on beta:
ITS SOOO AWESOME! I love it. I almost regret signing that postpone petition. Almost.
They could realese it now and I would buy it. Except for the fact that I already have it... Excelent. Im glad the building "capitol" is back. This is sooo good. It shouldn't be game-of-the-year, it should be game-of-the-century, or -game-of-, except that it will (hopefully) have sequels that will be better than it. This is awesome. If you haven't downloaded the beta, do so. Even if you have dial-up, its worth it. AWESOME!
And the graphics, well they say a picture's worth a thousand words, but no ten-thousand words could be worth this picture (and I was on very low graphics setteings.). Love the graphics.

Yeah is a great game... but if is released in this stage a lot of old Heroes fans will be dissapoined... but with the delay announcement I hope will be the best game in the series
