Rate the expansions

I don't know where this thread should be, but I want to do one. The question is, what you think about the expansions of the games? Can you please rate them (0-10)

My ratings:

Heroes II: Prince of Loyalty

The good: New dwellings, New artifacts and something to replace the tavern for the necromancers.

The bad: No new units or towns, the campaign story takes place in another world (not Enoroth) who wasent mentoried in the ordinary game, Shrine is not enoght for replacing the tavern.

Comment: Respectable expansionpack. Still, not the best done.

Rating: 7

Heroes III: Amragedons blade

The good: Fantastic and chalangeing campaings, a random map generator, campaing editor, a welldone new town (Conflux), new units, two new artefacts. + Bonus for NO Forge town =)

The bad: Just two new artifacts =)

Comment: BEST! A lowly new town, great campaings, random map generator, campaing editor! I cant say all good whit it! And the best is that NWC lised to the fans and aboned the Forge!

Rating: 9,5 (Nothing is perfect =))

Heroes III: The shadow of death

The good: New artefacts (witch can be combined), campaigns whit selecable difficulty, new teleport monolith sets.

The bad: No new towns, Does not include the Conflux town as well as the random map generator, campaigns are not as good as those from amragedons blade (exept the "A specter of power" campaign)

Comment: Just a vaste  of money if you byed it. Better to by Heroes III complete!

Rating: 4

Heroes IV: The gathering storm

The good: New objects, new artifacts and new monsters.

The bad: The campaigns has a RPG-style, no new towns, the campaign story takes place in another world (not Axehot) who wasent mentoried in the ordinary game.

Comment: Bad, bad, bad, but good if you look on 3DOs resoucers in that time. I did just by it to sympatise whit them. And I had expected a Necross campaing, but it wasen't any because this expansion tackes place in another world!

Ranting: 2,5

Heroes IV: Winds of war:

The good: New objekts, three new monsters, dwellings for the older ones and for the new ones (exept fot the megadragon), the Campaign Editor has been updated to include the 'find object' function, the campaigns are at least well done...

The bad: NO GALDOTH CAMPAIGN OR OTHER AXERHOT CAPAIGN !!! (again), No new towns (again), the campaign story takes place in another world (not Axehot) who wasent mentoried in the ordinary game (again).

Comment: Better than the gathering storm, but I hate that it missed Axehot camaigns. I byed it, but I strongly recomend other players to by Heroes IV complete.

POL was an excellent expansion. The combined artifact with town portal rocked! The POL campaign was the best of the four campaigns(prob. a given since it was by far the longest), but Descendants was very good too even though it was too short. I give the POL expansion 75%.
I can't grade the H3 expansions as I haven't played them yet. Do you know if any U.S. chainstores carry H3 Complete? I can't seem to find it except on-line.

I have no idea, but I think so. I mean, to sell games in America must be a very good investement, because it lives so mutch people there.
And I agree that the Prince of loyalty campaigns where good, but they wasnät conected whit the orginal story!

i have yet to play armagedons blade but i have completed shadow of death.   my beef with it is that it claims all your heroes will keep their stats in future levels, however they do not keep their stats across CAMPAIGNS, which SUCKS.   because I actually carefully cultivated all my heroes so that they'd have expert earth magic but nooooooo it all got wiped out after i finished the current campaign.

oh also the difficulty of the campaigns was pretty random.   for example, the final level of the final campaign, where you defeat sandro, is ridiculously easy.    however the level before that, much harder.    also the sandro campaigns were painfully easy as well, due to the armor of the damned and undead cloak.    so the difficulty was unevenly distributed.

I love POL even though it didn't add anything new to gameplay.    however the campaigns, hero portraits, new dwelling grounds (GHOSTS hired from mounds ARE BROKEN OMG), plus all those new maps were great - my favorite was pirate utopia.  i have very fond memories of it and every now and then (probably every 2 years or so) i dust off my copy, and play through the campaigns and play a few scenarios.

Wouldn't it be too hard to make scenarios suitably difficult whatever your hero level if you could play campaigns in any order (to an extent)?

well you can play them in any order.   i was saying it was annoying that your heroes didn't carry on their stats between campaigns.   that wouldn't be too hard to code.
