Bad Things about Heroes V

I found some realy bad things in HOMM V.
Ekhem... first of all one of Heroes in Sylvan town starts with a unicorn! With it you can kill all weak creatures near your castle and get many resources, artifacts and even some creatures will join you! Bit unbalanced don't you think?

And the second one is about Necropolis. I played it and attacked Militia with 49 Skeletons, 24 Walking Dead and 1 Mane. What was left was 22 Walking Dead and 10 Skeletons from Necromancy. I mean that Necropolis is pathetic, It's lvl 1 and 2 unupgraded creatures(I think that upgraded also)have 1 DAMAGE! I give you a example i attacked Militia with 24 Walking Dead and... THEY KILLED ONLY 4 OF THEM!!!

And because of this i think they should made it more like H3 where Walking Dead were slow but could still deal a lot of damage. And skeletons were also powerful because of numbers, but not only. They had damage 2-3(if i remember corectly) and thus were not that bad.

My final idea for this:
everybody post here things you find unbalanced in HOMM V

The balance is still getting done, and the stats should be different in the final version of the game.

I understand, but still there could be non detected bugs in HOMM V so better Detect them.

Scrolling like mad to chose what building to make that day is stupid. Why not have all buildings so you can pick one on the spot? I could only play Inferno, but I suspect that does not matter for the dark graphics of the game where I cannot spot well the guards at mines and stuff. Changing angles also give me a hard time, for I don't care what angle I look at things as long as I can see them clearly. Damn, I hope the final version will be MUCH improved!

Thank God I still have the option to stick with H3.

I also remember Chaos Hydra Regeneration ability.
It's "a bit" overpowered. They can even resurrect fallen ones! I won with a miracle with them! I was playing with inferno and all that was left was 5 Sucubi! I won because i was running all over the battlefield and attacking it with hero! Chaos Hydras are even faster than Sucubi!

And another thing i won only because Hydras couldn't pass throught some of passes. And that shows that battlefield is to small, there are too many obstacles and some creatures are too big! 2x2 is way too big.
My advice for them they should make some creatures 2x1 for example Cavalier or Paladin

to build buildings just use the city plan button it gives a display of all of the buildings and and what building requires what (like what building or how many town points) and it makes things much more clear and u can also select the building that u want and just press build so that's not such a BAD thing about heroes 5 and I'm sure that there'e ll be a lot of improvement anyways

Thanks, Hrushov, I'll take a better look at it later, after I solve my video card problems, maybe it isn't as bad as I thought at first glance. The first feel of it is negative, though.

and one more thing that button is at the bottom right of ur screen and it looks like an opend srcoll (however u spell that) or just like a paper with stuff written on it lol

With the initiative system there is no simply need to have a wait button, since when you hit defense the character scrolls to the middle of the initiative table. What would wait change ? Since creatures with higher initiative moves faster anyway, after you hit wait you can not expect the creature act again after all creatures have acted...

Yes there is initiative bar but what if i'll be playing whith this option off? They should make a wait button in non dinamic combat system. There is no problem with it, creature's move could be placed on end of turn. Is it that hard that they can't make it?

Waiting is sometimes the best tactic. I hope they reconsider not using wait.  

Then again if they do use waiting, im thinking AI should know when to use it aswell.

One more bad thing is that the shield who represents "Expert Defence" isnt a roman shield, but just a bad-protecting medival shield!

Bad thing about Heroes V

The Heroes III legacy of wait-for-the-enemy-to-prepare-himself-before-attacking thing. It's ugliest when attacking the enemy from its back: the attacking unit suddenly stops, waits its enemy to turn around, and only after that continue its attack.

Yuck!

Worse is, it's there not for Heroes IV same-time retaliation. I mean, if the targeted unit given such a "mercy", it should have used the chance to retaliate immediately. But it's not! So what's the point?

Double Yuck!

Where has this cool battle dynamics gone?

I think it was made in order you could see where are your units, where are the enemy ones, since enemy ones will be facing to you all the times. Heroes 4 didn't have that because units had colour flags above them.
