The coolest looking town and unit
I've created it in response to all those threads that try to rank towns. Here is a new ranking system. It is 100% subjective, so everyone posted in here will be correct because of that fact.
Here are the coolest looking towns:
1) Fortress - awesome scenery, it reminds me of Diablo II Kurast Docks and that place looked awesome.
2) Inferno - evil!
3) Necropolis - very neat, nice and quiet. An excellent place for the old people looking for a place to settle down 
4) Tower - the opposite of Necropolis - very bright with colorful buildings.
The worst looking town:
Dungeon - it looks like s**t.
Here are the coolest looking units:
1) Dread Knights - both the graphics and the sound match its name perfectly. They look like knights and they certaily look dreadful.
2) Arch Devils - they look very sinister and very stylish!
3) Titan - an angry titan in shiny armor wielding a flaming sword.
4) Sprites - mmm... 
Here are the lamest units:
1) Pikemen - not sure why, but definitely the lamest unit.
2) Centaurs - they look really really gay.
3) Manticores - wtf is that thing?

The coolest looking towns:
1. Conflux - The NWC artists did a great job here!
2. Fortress - Extremely good too! But it bust be hard to live on the right side of the river and be forced to row to the town hall on the left side! I wonder why the Tatalians havent build a brige!
3. Inferno - THE EVIL AILENS ARE HERE TO STAY!!!
4. Stronghold - We dont need any @£€${€ civilisation!
Worst looking town: Necropolis - Too dead look combinated whit awfull audio.
Coolest Units:
1. Psycic/Magic elementals - Very intresting
2. Black knights - "We have fleed frome Middleearth, to spread chaos in this world!"
3. Vampire lords - "Your blood is mine!"
4. Walking dead - I dont want to meet them in a cementy on the night!

Minotaurs look cool, the nose ring is definately a fashion statement even if they are technicaly bulls. 
Crusaders got a nice tough look but the swordsman should be called gaymen, what is up with da hat?!
I like the Ancient Basilisk just because it reminds me my late pet iguana "Kitty"  (R.I.P)

My fav units are:
Titan (really cool lighting thing and cool shiny armour)
Arch Devil (love the way the move across the battlefield, cool look, sinister feel)
Dread Knights (Sick looking unit, really creepy but cool)
Hope you like my fav units.

Nobody mentioned Rampart yet?!?
Rampart is H3's most beautiful town, in my opinion. It's got lush scenery and plenty of bright green vegetation. In the background, there's the mountains and forest, as well as a pretty layer of misty shroud. The scene is almost a depiction of a natural world of peace; one can hardly imagine this place being a part of a continent ravaged by warfare and pillaging. With such a peaceful atmosphere and a stunning view, I'd love to live in a place like that.
Of all the creatures, I think the Energy Elementals are the coolest-looking. They're not the H2 Phoenix, but they still look pretty awesome. I like how they seem to pulse with their internal energy whilst moving around and attacking. And they're blue, a favorite color of mine.

I have to agree with guitarguy, rampart is one of the coolest towns it reminds me of the braveheart movie, but the inferno town i think takes the prize but only with the grail structure in it, it just screams power and evil! fortress is very nice to, actully all towns are a arttistic masterpiece in their own way, exept the conflux, that town sucks big time. It has no personal identity like inferno's, red and dark colours or the fortress's swamp/jungle feel to it. cunflux just looks unfinished an rushed trough, just "blah"!

In fact, there are only 2 towns I dislike: Castle and Stronghold. Most other towns really look great. Fortress and Rampart being the top ones.
As for creatures:
1. Silver Pegasus
2. Arch Devil (Specially its movement )
3. Dread Knight
4. Cerberus

A very cool unit to I think is the Chaos Hydra, very detailed, like the way that the multiple heads are all diffrent and nice movment, Powerliches are nice to, especially the way they attack, with the death cloud and that evil laugh, and Naga Queen is a very nice piece of work to.
