Quote: I prefer early advantage over late. And mages too get better to by levelling. Like: on level 1, the mage can kill one hydra, but on level 10 he or she can kill ten hydras.
And wouldn't that mean that by that stage, the Hydras would also be on Level 10, and be able to kill the Mages.
And I thought Hydras were stronger then Mages...

I meant Mage heroes, it is noobish to choose Might heroes over them.
Another noobish thing is to take gold from treasure chests. You'll gonna need that experience if you want a good mage hero. Rush for capitol and you wont have to worry about money.

So what's your argument, zanjerusalem?

My argument? Well:
Magic heroes are stronger than Magic heroes. This is because you can do fantastic things with magic, like Armageddon when playing Conflux. Might Heroes improving attack can be countered with defense while there is no real counter to magic.
However when playing Fortress, I would recommend Tazar since he improves the main strength of the entire faction: It's defense.
So what has this got to do with Exp and treasure chests? Well simply, to build up a good main hero, especially a magic one, you are going to need both crests and battles. You don't need that gold, you can always rush for capitol in the beginning and you will have your economy fixed. This is however not a good idea on small maps, where you have to revise your strategy.

Again, I'm not a troll. I want to discus strategy with you. If you think that I am wrong, please tell me why instead of flaming me like that.

Ok. Why don't you read some threads, and play some games following the strategies proposed? Then, nobody will have to say anything, since your questions will be solved by magic!; i.e. you won't have any questions from that point on ...

There are around 267440032654906 threads about H3 strategy in the library. Don't you think it would be a better move YOU try to get the needed info (and you REALLY need some more info..) by reading a few of them and then start to discuss again?

Like what thread? I don't see any good example of this.
I promise you that my strategy works. I have been using it since I stared to play and I have gone through all AB campaigns. (including the last one, which I enjoyed most)

zan, any strategy is good against the AI, cuz it is moronic.
have you tried your strategy against a human opponent?
preferably an experienced in the online gaming one.
btw, the dragon slayer campaign is one of my favourite.

Hey guys, give this guy a break. He is only 15 and from Sweden. And he is right, magic heroes work fine against the AI and some times against humans. In my 2nd online game I picked Solmyr as main and won. I also remember a jebus game against the great Frank where he used Grindan as main.

I for one, am not telling him he's stupid or something, I'm trying to convince him (you) to try to play against a human opponent with a might and with a magic hero and see the difference, because 7-8 years ago, I also preferred magic over might and sometimes it worked out well.

I think the most interesting part of the conversation is the extent to which it is surreal.
I also think that william deserves a +QP because of his effort in this direction.

Basically, imo, it all goes down in the end to what stats the actual heroes have.
Like, any magic hero might be stronger then a might if the stats are higher.
You might be lucky a few times, with having lower stats with your hero, but most times you will not be so lucky.
I guess it also boils down to the point of the actual skill of the opponent.
I did this, while having my first online game, but staying in your base, just accumulating creatures and then waiting for the opponent seems like a pretty noobish decision.
Too bad I can't play anymore and learn some new tricks, but I do not wanna go offtopic anymore.

But... since then, are your playing skills improved or deteriorated? I suspect you will not pick solmyr any more, unless the other option is Adelaide.
And about the great Frank - everyone can pick Grindan, the question is - will he win with Grindan And if so - against what kind of opponent?
It have been discused milions of times, the problem with mages are not only their primary skill advancement (wich on jebus you can somehow equal with arenas, libraris and major arties). The problem is the secondary skills - how often you will have tactics, logistics, offence, armorer?

I think I'd rather have Adelaide. Heck, she can cast frost ring on day 1 (without hitting her own troops), then cast it again on day 3 without visiting a well or sleeping in town. Solmyr has to wait until day 13 days to cast chain again. Adelaide is the bomb.

@liophy: Naturally I have improved since then. Im just saying its not that suprisingly that a 15 year old swede thinks that magic heroes are the best.
About Frank, he lost that game, but acording to himself he would have won if he hadnt made some mistakes.
