team, i would like to know your opinion about the following situation:
player #1 cast offensive spell (e.g. Implosion), however his opponent RESIST the spell
questions:
- is it considered "a cast"?
- may player #1 retreat if there was rule "no hit'n'run" e.g. with following description "if player cast offensive spell he must give turn to his opponent"?
IMHO it's not h'n'r - cause there was no damage made - and i would suggest to change description to "if player successfully cast offensive spell he must give turn to his opponent"

The evolution of the lawyer. Make a bunch of rules that nobody agrees on what they mean. Then pay the lawyers a bunch of money to argue that your interpretation of the rules is right and the other guy's is wrong. Whoever hires the most expensive lawyer wins.
If I park my main two steps from the opponent's castle and he can afford to hire 20 heroes to H&R me, then he played better than I did. After the 2nd or 3rd time, I'd ask if he has enough gold to kill me. If he answers yes, I'd concede him the win and say gg, wanna play again tomorrow?

I, personally, prefer to play without any rules in MP. If you let an opponent abuse something like this, get them back the same way next time instead of complaining.

Its a very tender question sag, there was no harm done, but the intent was to cast and its only fair that the oppenent gets to cast as well, so i would actually say that u should give the oppenent a chance to cast as well.

Well, we don't know whether he just intended to cast Implosion and then retreat. Perhaps he could have won the battle if the spell hadn't been resisted.

I'd agree with Devangle, he intended to hit you with the spell. However, I prefer also to play without rules, since the spells and tactics benefit both sides.

Since there was an intent to attack therefore I think it should be considered a hit. The fact that damage was not done is to the benefit of the Player #2. However Player #1 did attack just because it failed doesn't mean it did not happen. So the situation is hit and run.

Situation was the following: if i cast AND opponent doesn't resist - then i win; if i cast AND opponent resist - then i loose. IMHO "intention to HIT" is not the same as "HIT"...anyway resistance could save opponent from loosing and had me to surrender/retreat. Fortunately in my game opponent haven't resisted

When Maretti agrees everyone listens .
As long as there is no damage there is no hit & run.
As long as both players can get a lick in the damage dept, there is no hit & run.
I dont care what Rychenroller says.

If your whole strategy in a game is based on ONE spell in final battle, you surely deserve to loose...
