Call to Arms for H4
Hiya All,
So some of us have retired, or semi-retired. Others just lost interest in the game. Others don't have time anymore. Others are waiting for H5 to come out.
I would like to invite all the old-timers to play some H4 on weekends, and lets get some games going...it will be a while before H5 comes out, so lets enjoy H4.
Ive been in ToH now for about 5 years I think, not so active in H3, but loving H4 because of the great coaching i've got.
Best maps ever for H4 in my opinion are Giant Maze, PowerSpot, Tron, Circle of LIfe 2.0, and perhaps a few more.
So let's get out there, and come back to play some.
Only players active are newbies, and myself That's sad. Even mighty gagatek taking time off game. So hope to see some of you on weekends to play
I'll even let you choose the map.
List of players invited:
Teacher, Arangar, Valkyrica, Insatiable, Zud, Targan, Gagatek, Mordaunt5, Doomsquest, Sirpunk, Kolia, Balcough, Cmeptb, CtPahHuk, Gagatek, Jinxer, Laelth, Abusoleira, Blue-Camel, Camoes,Ghasteater,Kennystarfighter, Kaki, MIke11, Pashagreen, Shnurov, Slugger, Tc-Fear, Tyler, and even you Ves , and Im sure ill get shot for missing out a few players here.
The game can be fun as long as it doesnt become an addiction, treat it like women and booze.
So hope to see some of you soon
And if you don't show up, ill understand, afterall, situations evolve.

Well good luck to you indeed; just until about 2 months ago, I was still playing homm4 (single player). I think all the cards lie in homm5 now, but there is still some gaming going on in homm4 ToH, at about 5 reported games per day.

Actually, the real reason i posted this was to actually just chat with old friends, and hence, I used H4 as a way to lure them back to GS

I am planning to buy a new PC, cause I really dont think my PIII 450 MH will do
Valky, you in Canada now, so you prolly aware of prices here. How much would a very good PC cost. I have my flat screen, 256mb Nvidea card. So all i need is new motherboard. So what is good to run H5?

You will need the motherboard package ! Which includes, motherboard, processor, new fan, new case, new powersupply, new RAM memory, new hard drives, prolly a new soundcard and by the time you get all this you realise that your video card is outdated and you'll get one of those too.
This is a problem, I need to upgrade my 1.6 P4 crap too so from what I saw, we're looking @ about 1.5k before tax , slightly less if you build it yourself.

256 nb Video at P3 450.
It is more fun than 1.25 Gb Ram with 20 Gb hard drive on my computer.
I think that better purchase 1 Gb of ram. Change of hard drive isn't necccecary.
And sound cart often integrated with mothrrboard.
So motherboard, processor cooler and RAM.
Similar upgrade costs me near 250$, but I buy video card (Ge Force 5500) also.

I still play Heroes IV (Equilibris) almost everyday after work. I trade off playing Heroes III (WoG) between maps. I absolutely love these games, as well as Heroes II & I. Somehow, I doubt that Heroes V will be able to meet my Heroes addiction; but we'll see.

i was a fan of h4, but i think it is pretty safe to assume that h5 will be better, even from the small sampling we've had so far. for starters, even if the rumor is true about Nival including only "trick" maps in the demo where the hideous weaknesses of the AI won't be very obvious, the AI in h5 can't be worse than the AI in h4. and i think, at least after a good patch or two, that the MP gameplay will be more enjoyable. it also has the old nostalgic h1-h3 feel to it when you play; surely that counts for something.
