No
In more than one way, Heroes 5 will be the end of an era. As a mapmaker, I'm looking forward to toying with the 3D editor, but there is one thing I'll miss - a "Lord of the Rings" scenario for H5. A good one, that is.
I'm not sure about H1 (we should ask Ururam Tururam about that ), but H2, H3 and H4 all had several maps based on Tolkien's classic. Was Charles Watkins the author of a great Rings map for H2...? I think so. I played a few maps for H3 (even created one for WoG myself), while Veldrynus made two (!) scenarios for H4.
The 3D settings and the cutscenes based on the game's engine would be perfect tools for mapmakers... However, the announced creature roster and the lack of an entire "might" faction will surely cripple any endeavor to truthfully re-create Middle-earth.
Just think how great it could have been...
A Ring Wraith
A Rider of Rohan
Balrog
Without Haflings and Orcs, the tradition won't go on, though...

Quote: Wow, can you imagine if we had the full array of creatures??? The ring wraiths fir the bill perfectly!
My thoughts exactly. The upgraded version seems too colorful, but the one in the picture above would be just perfect.
Other creatures might not be such obvious choices, but I think they would fit. For example, here's Aragorn (Haven hero) meeting Balrog (the Devil) in Moria:
What about Sauron? Would he be an Inferno hero or not appear at all?
What about the Witch King? When he returns in the third chapter, he's riding a black wyvern (?). Which creature or hero would you choose for him?
What about other characters?

Quote: Well that poses a question. I havnt been reading up on H5 as much as i used to so i dont know as many facts as you would.
You noob! Quote: Is there a hero that uses a wyvern as a mount?
No, but there are Necropolis and Dungeon heroes.
The former looks like a Ring Wraith in the Shire, while the latter is riding a lizard (but his creature looks more like a dinosaur than a wyvern).
However, I think this big guy could be Sauron:

You forgot about somethig or I'd better say someone. As a Ringwraith Dark Knight would be better. Just my 2 cents

I thought the red Dark Knight looks too colorful for a Ring Wraith:

Well but he has a horse. I agree that wraiths are the best Ringwraiths, but unmounted. Even if Dark(Red?)Knight is red he is the best Ringwraith, with mount. He just fits. He has skulls on armor, his horse is a skeleton and his sword is surely better than scythe of wraith as a weapon for Ringwraith.

But, this is perhaps far-fetched, but haven't you heard of the possible dwarf and might towns on a add-on, now this could make Middle-Earth return indeed. But we've got to have patience.

But what concern me even more, is that we have to make all high elf towns to Haven town. And Haven look a bit too "knighty" for Rohan. But then again we got our "Ents" back!

As for Dwarves, only Gimli is the problem - the race didn't take part in the War of the Ring anyway.
I am disappointed there is no Orc faction, though. Although everybody is talking about the expansion...

You mean Sylvan?

Yeah, but I preferred the original rendition:

On the other hand, the Nival developers admitted that Tolkien's books were one of the sources of their inspiration.
Would you rather see an RPG scenario with small armies (such as Fellowship) on a quest, or a huge multiplayer map? What fits The Lord of the Rings better?

isnt the whole LOTR a big quest to get the ring to the volcano??? so wouldnt a quest map be the best?
no offense Vlaad, but the fact that you are even thinking about making a map for H5 makes me think you are a few pencils short of a pencil case, few sandwiches short of a picnic. its just that making a map for H5 seems so hard. after playing the game for a few minutes and seeing all the different map objects and land hieghts and *shivers* scarily hard maybe thats why there will be only 30 scenarios in the release sadly

No, I mean the high elf towns should be Haven towns, because the Sylvian ones are too native.
However like in H3 there must be creatures in a army for heroes to move around. As I see it, from a LotR point of view, H4 was the best, with Heroes more induvidial...
On the other hand the creature graphics in H4 was awful, now those thimes are over...

No, create a lots of small maps, the first is the Moria, and the Second is Rohan... or at the evil camping: First is Isengard... but it is can only have doned if the heroes can fight as creatures, like in th Heroes 4... without it that Lord of the Rings in Heroes 5 cannot be doned...

To be far i dont see why you guys just don't make the missions yourselfs, too be completely fare, i made the battle for Minas-tereth
Stuuf i used
Academy heroes: as those Elephant riders
Aragon: Duncan Pic
Legolas: Anwen (no others)
Gimli: Wulfsatn
Gandalf: Alaron (an elf but he had a beard)
one slight downside
in Heroes 5 their is the Hero, Eg Aragon and troops, so in moments like Morear, they would need a hero to go anywere
Good Luck

Or we can make if this features in the game:
heroes can fight and can be killed like chreatures
chreatures moving without heroes
heroes moveing without chreatures
we don't lose battle, if we lose all chreatures (only if we have a hero, but we lose, if e have got no hero in the army)
more heroes (msx. 7) in the army
heroes can du ranged and meele damage
Gandalf: Knig Tolghar OR Godric
Gimli: Wulfstan
Legolas: Findan
Aragorn: Duncan
Sauron: Agrael
Nazgul: Naadir
Eomer: Sarge (from Beta version)
Boromir: Dougal
Faramir: Dougal
Saruman: King Tolghar OR Godric
Orc heroes: Orcish heroes of bixie's future russian stronghold orcs or my settlement orcs
Okay, they are them.
