eldie im almost sure that u will be slaughtered within 2 turns - your development seems to me as failed MMR (in other words u have the wrong skills/perks vs heaven on XL map), so u are in a very tough situation.Make sure to get stormwind, expert defence, power of endurance and mb evasion.I hope u have the resources to make at least lvl 2 mini arties on all ur creatures - boosting initiative and defence/vitality is a must.
Dont fight him on grassy terrain - chances are he will have familiar ground.
As of his skills - i think he has:
expert logistics - warpath, familiar
expert att - retribution + power of speed/tactics
expert leadership - nothing here yet
expert light - 1 or 2 masterys
basic/advanced/expert def

Umm MMR is a week 2-4 multiple magic school rushing tactic with a focus on mage guilds instead of units and their upgrades. As such I fail to see a resemblance.

Nope. It's not about the build, it's about rushing. Besides light and summoning are hardly tools for rushing week 2-4. Ok summoning only but light/summoning is a rather mid to lategame choice.

Without stormwind he will had no problems to take 2 of your own large creatures out!=You're Dead
In a xl map he will probably train 20 paladins/week=again you're dead
You have no dark?omg,at that point of game dark ruLLe!=you're dead AGAIN
Why summoning ?..I suppose he has around 50 paladins.well,with no charge they can kill your phoenix with 1 hit.also phantom phorces is unesfull lol..what can you clone if you're titans and maybe rakshatras are already dead?
Btw,I have one question:why he takes so long to attack you?
It's already month 2..omfg!

Had he some more specific perks academy could still win. You just don't know their power on long maps.

well thx for all the answers
ill go for defence as my last skill and get that tome of summoning so i can cast phonix + go for stormwind if i get the chance
ill have a big advantages in initiative and with my lions set + soccery and hopefully distract ill come to act alot with my hero compared to him
ill just pray i can stop hes champions the first round

Init arties on gargoyles or djinns can take care of that if you are lucky. Anyways academy can win regardless of the game being early or late, it just depends a lot on artifacts, available gold and resources. It is unlikely for haven to train 20 palas/week since not many maps offer THAT much gold, however if he hoards them and skips other units you just might be able to stop him in his tracks with multiple hives, trap him in a corner to prevent charging, cover the whole place in landmines etc. Now how do you buy time? That's the hard part, unless you have stormwind and he charges you with tactics, mass haste, retribution and a lot of luck it's going to be hell. But your other advantages are artifact merchants that can help you complete artifact sets and possibly lvl 3 mini arties.
Academy in general seems weaker to haven because most people do not know how to use it well. Even if you do lategame haven is no pushover, there are no guarantees that you'll be able to keep their might in check.

Try to stop charge with djins,gargoyles(preferably) or golems.You can even sacrifice those units to stop it.

Just don't actually attack them with djinns, chances are they will die in the retaliation(esp if luck is present) and then charge anyway
Unless I find it absolutely necessaty I hate blocking with djinns, three luck reductions are a lot more worth it in the long run. Ofc not much that can be done if champions/paladins are about to thrash your titans and only djinns can act in time to block them.

trying to tell someone what to do when he provides limited info on opponent & skill is intriguing...who knows whether his haven opponent is at same skill level? [yes I do remember another post somewhere]
Yes defence is the good choice for last skill but at 2%, ya gotta understand that it may not come up, especially if no mentor on map
So some say Month 2 week 2 is too late for every type of player on xl map is it wow

elvin has right.academy can be very powerful in the later-game.and on the early game haven is not the easiest opponent,maybe the hardest

compeately agree here - academy isnt my favourite faction, but imo its overall the best.About the late game - artificer is theoretically the best skill ever as it contains counters for every single race and supports an enourmous amount of strategies.It somewhat compensates for the academys 4x2% (logistics, defence, att, leadership) and grows stronger over time - if the wizards knowledge hits 60 artificer is better than avenger, training , gating and every other racial ability.Wizards knowledge ,however, cant practically reach more than 30-35 on ubi's maps - the only thing that keeps academy form being overpowered imo.

Question about those "mini arties", do they get trashed and disappear after one battle or are they providing those stat boosts until the stack is successfully killed? (even though this might happen 5 battles after the artifact was purchased). Haven't played Academy much but I'm about to enter their missions on Heroic in the campaigns so a little research can't harm.

have in mind that with 60 knowledge u can increase a lvl 7 unit (titan)
Att def and init + 50%, which basically means that he will be 150% better -> best lvl 7 creature, when talking about low lvl units the increasements ( att, def and vitality) boost the stats by more then 100% -> u have a 300% better units
Leadership and luck are different story as they are just broken - necros ulti skill reduses the moral by 6, the leadership artie can boost it by up to 7 :X
magic resistance - up to 85% and around 75-80 in the final battle - EPIC vs dungeon - irresistable magic will reduce it by half , but it will still cut the destr magic dmg by 40% - way too much for the poor dungeon( doesnt shine with nothing except destructive), and will most likely lose
