Your Expectations for ToH?
Since Its been nearly 3 1/2 years since I have played an official game in ToH, I been wondering what Vets of old (seasons I through III) are thinking ToH is going to be like with H5
Then players that I have never met what you think some BASIC thoughts and comments on how you think the tourny is handled...
Basically I want to catch up for lost time due to the poor (IMO) H4 product. H5 has alot more H1 Through H3 feel with the H4 elements added in.
Feel free to post away

Why should we be expecting anythang from Rob.
He always gave us what we needed & we had many who gave great ideas.
I dont think we should expect anythang but what is given to us.

I expect that Toh will be number 1. where it belongs. It would be good if ToH could get some of these server ladder players, would increase numbers quite a bit.
If WW comes back, I will just laugh at it.

Well, I'm new here so my expectations are as follows:
Games 1 thru 20...The bloody stench of my being slaughtered each game reeks up the internet so bad that weak stomached surfers in the most unlikely of game rooms; such as online Tetris or Bejeweled; smell them and are overcome by the sudden need to retch uncontrollably. Some overly sensitive anti-virus programs and firewalls report these as malicious trojans and/or unsuccesful hacks. The term, "..and Jesus wept." is popularly applied to describe the overall feelings from those who witness the incidences firsthand.
Games 21 thru 40...Thanks to a critical update patch from Microsoft that localizes the putrescence eminating from my computer, my battlefield massacres become slightly more bearable to the olfactory senses. The visual results are breathtakingly brutal to behold although; like a plane crash, or a car wreck; render the viewer completely incapable of looking away, yet slightly ashamed at not having done so. Support groups form in a seperate thread.
Games 41 thru 60...Baby seals have been clubbed with less vigor and more humanity than is applied to my armies in a ToH game. Prison *itches are appalled but slightly titillated at the level of abuse heaped upon my forces shortly after their arrival in game.Quentin Tarantino picks up the option to the movie rights and is heard screaming maniacly into his cell phone to his special effects co-ordinator, "You heard me right, *ss*ole! We're gonna need real human blood on this one and lots of it! Call our buddies in Darfur!"
Games 61 thru 80...Having finally learned a succesful tactic but then using it wrong and too often; my game results then begin to appear in Clarice's nightmare's instead of the lambs at slaughter time. Hannibal Lector quivers in delight.
Games 80 thru ?...Finally taking pity on me for my monumental ineptitude and profound ability to *uck up even the most basic of tactics and confusing my irrational desperation for intestinal fortitude the Heroes Community takes pity on me and rallies about trying to coach me into something that resembles coherent gameplay!
I think that about sums up my expectations, I hope I didn't get that last part wrong !

Donīt know if posted already anywhere, but...will the point system stay the same for Heroes V aswell?
Coz this was mostly the main reason why i rarely played for Toh later on. I donīt play too much anyway, but i like to have a good challenge. This can only happen at the start of the season though, coz the good players will reach higher ranks very fast and then dislike to play lower ranked players coz of the big points they could prolly lose. And "fun" games seem to be waste of time for many good players, coz they get no points for that...

Well, let's hope for a bigger community. And there are usually several good players that stay around baron lvl for quite some time (due to f.ex. rl reasons). Play those to advance if you want a challenge
Besides, you can rise in rankings playing "lesser" players and still get a challenge (and hopefully have fun) by playing them on "their" maps or test new strategies etc.
I don't play that many games either.. but then again, I'm a h4 player, I'm used to low activity
Go to a B-movie and expect an A-movie - you'll be disappointed.

What happens when the A movie become a B movie?? What are you going to do then?
The point system has "Always" had that High rank vs low rank penality due to the fact that High rank would play a 0-0 1000 point player and destroy them collect the win and the 0-0 player would complain that they cheated 'somehow' and then never complete a win/loss report.
You will have to trust me on that one since I was working with Rob in ToH during 'MANUAL' system on Fridays (usually the busiest day) for updates. I would have to find each player and go through a half hour to an hour of changes just to make things work.
AHHH the good 'ol days...well I am glad they are gone

It is our job to make sure we let it stay an A movie.
The point values never changed & it probally never will.
I never made Baron in my life but I played many high ranked players.
It proves that many Legionaires & even some Lords & some emperors will play a low ranked player even with the risk.
They just want to play.
Kreshzantas You did alot of tough work.
I am sure alot apreciate that now if they never knew how hard you worked back then.
WHen i came around Rob was getting that Automation.
Point is that there will be fair players everywhere & some that are greedy.
Like most of us say, we can play who we know & it wouldnt matter what rank you are in & it revolves with noobs as well.
They will play each other then in time play us as well.
It's like an endless repeated cycle just like our lives.
It;'s nothing to worry about I think because everyone will have a chance to play most.
Respect comes from your ranking when they look it up on toh & see the high honour & not just reg honour after 100 games or poor honour after 5 games etc.
Stats tell alot.

actually this will be somewhat like classical times again, because nobody will have the 'ultimate strategy', nor will there be many maps in the beginning. That saturation point where everyone knows everything takes time, and of course, if random maps do come in the future it will only add more spice to the games. Its the 2nd, 3rd 4th years where you get less players, more hardcores, more grumpy types, that slowly erode and make the point system less enticing.

Totally agree with you Ves.. It will be a completely fresh start and new for everybody. Just now with the Automation there wont be the 1 to 2 day delay (because of human monkeys not named Ves updating scores)in knowing where you stand.
Let me be more specific the automation makes it to where I wont miss that part of the good 'ol days.
Also I am not downplaying or ridiculing what I actually enjoyed doing. My point is its going to be more rewarding for all to actually play this time around when the game comes out with a fresh start.
