If you first use Magical Immunity on your troops you can really deal a lot of damage to the enemy. Also nice when you only have Black Dragons, and your not a Warlock.

Rainalcar, consider the incredible army's damage increase via mass bless. If the army is big, the spell will easily beat implosion, and that's without powerful artifacts or spell power.
Mass bless beated implosion bcuz you had to recast it each turn, while the blessing was constant - once you've blessed your army, you could i.e. cast a prayer to improve the damage even further.

Good point there, didn't thought about that, and how come:
"Also nice when you only have Black Dragons, and your not a Warlock"

Believe me, I know. The only problem is that the army has to be really massive for the bless/prayer/curse etc. spells to overtake direct damage spells - ofcourse, if the map is so poor and it is practicaly impossible to reach SP +12, then mass spells shine more brighter. But that is rear. Consider this: even if you bless all of your armies, and are fighting against a dungeon hero who hits your archangels with a 1400 implosion (easily achievable), so killing almouts six of your, say gold dragons, you will NEVER be able to kill his blacks even with bless - guaranteed. You will still need haste, and then comes another implosion/armageddon etc.

I just noticed something strange... while I was in a long and big fight my hero casted quite the amount of spells, however after a while the spells I used repeatedly suddenly grayed out while I had both enough mana and a valid target to cast the spell on... anyone knows what the reasoning is behind this?

BTW, I don't know if anyone pointed this out, I didn't read every word in the thread, but did you know Meteor Shower damages castle fortifications? I discovered that on accident while making a mess with Sinitar.

What do u guys think is the best dmg spell? I think it's Meteor Shower because it's got high dmg, it can be cast on many units and it hits castle fortifications (not sure). I like to use it at the start of the battle and ussually to kill the enemy archers with it (and their defenders ).It's better tha Armaggedon because it doesn't hit all your troops and even though it has a large area of effect I haven't hit my troops yet . It's better than chain lightning because it does full dmg to all the units that it hits. And it's better than Implosion because it can do more dmg.....Implosion needs a dmg boost...it has low dmg for a lvl 5 spell that hits 1 unit.
So...what do u say?

No, do not think so, i can easily get 1k of damage, while meteor shower was only like 600 damage, ofcourse implosion is only on 1 target, but with warlok, and irresitible magic and so on (high spellpower), you can easily get to 2/3k of damage, and that would blast away like 15 dragons, i think that is enough
And ogcourse implosion really looks cool :

Good point . Throw in some Emrald Slippers (50% more dmg to earth spells) and we have a very powefull spell on our hands . Also i noticed something...if I recieve Meteor Shower as the 4th lvl dmg spell I recieve Armaggedon as the 5th lvl dmg spell and if I recieve Chain Lightning as the 4th lvl dmg spell I recieve Implosion as the 5th lvl dmg spell. This is while playing Dungeon, but i'm not sure...it might be a coincidence.

Well, there are only 2 spells of each level, so chances are high that you mistake a coincidence for a rule.

Yeah, Meteor shower is easily the best desructive spell, especially when the computer decides to employ the time honored strategy of trying to see if it can fit all of it's units and siege equipment into a 5x5 grid. Seriously, I don't know why the computer never tries to spread their troups out after you hit them with meteor shower the first time.
Very rarely Chain lightning or Implosion will be the better bet, but over 85% of the time you will be going with Meteor shower as your destructive spell.

If you hit more than one unit, then meteor shower is better. If there is one really strong unit, use implosion. Simple.

Oh btw... The "Meteor Shower hits castle walls" thing was a scam... or at least, it never worked for me.
