Good to see optimistic mood in the air about map-making as well as good memory and a bit of nostalgia...
There might be a need for new maps badly, because first couple of days spent on current multi-player maps for HOMMV don't make a good impression (may be one exception is The Land of Outcasts) - game is superb, but needs really carefully balance-tuned maps.

Don't worry, I see JB is active again. Expect about 50 maps in about one week after the release

I honestly don't care about analyzing the current multi maps and having them 'perfectly balanced'... lets go back to the old days (at least for a month or two!) and enjoy the maps without overanalzying every square... At least I wont go the overanalysis/rule route.

Thank God
Hi JB, Sal, Lich, Ves :-)
I am debating playing...my cheap video card seems to handle it just fine..I was hoping it wouldnt so I wouldnt have to debate this :-)
MUST...
FIGHT...
URGE...
For someone who criticises HG so much I sure played it enough..lol...about 200 times in h3, at least.
Am thinking about using h5 as an excuse to buy a nice 7800gtx or something...has anyone noticed any kind of graphics boost with a nice card?
While I am waiting on your answers I will keep trying to figure out a way to hit and run Jinxer :-)
Whatever will we argue about, now that they have solved that issue? We'll figure something out ;-)

if jinxer is still on that dial-up connection then maybe the best way to HnR him is to alt-tab to the room and ping his ass

Dial up could barely get you to play heroes 3.
I should know I played with it for almost 3 yrs & dropping all the time was just a pain.

Tomorrow...it will come
I just want to play! I want to play the maps included and have fun doing it! One day I hope to play hourglass again on H5 the way it should be! For now though I will be extracting every ounce of eye-candy fun out of the existing ones
Sometimes I just boot up a demo save and scroll real close and drift around the scenery staring in wonder of the fabulous heroes world that has finally evolved.
Mocara..the gt6800 pci-e does a amazing job of it *sigh*
