How's the patch working for you?
I got home last night and immediately got the patch. I didn't have any problems getting up and running and attempted to play a game with JRholdt. First attempt we played with comps and a few turns into it one of the comps attacked my scout freezing the game. We reloaded from the auto and once again the same thing happened. So we decided to restart, this time without comps and toward the end of week 2 we met up. The problem was I couldn't see his hero on the map. The only way I knew he was there was his flag on the mini map. Then when he attcked my scout big surprise we couldn't get past the army placement stage.
Verdict: The patch doesn't appear to have solved the MP issues like we had hoped. JRholdt wanted me to try changing my video settings to match his but I really had to get going. I don't think this could be where the trouble lies but just in case I'm putting my settings to the default settings (There should be a button you can push.) and restarting my game and giving that a try... something has to work and explain why sometimes the game works correctly.
How have things been working for all of you since you installed the patch?

Well if you get curious or bored and want to give it a try let me know. Maybe we can finally figure this silly thing out. It's probably something simple and just as stupid. LOL

I'm not really sure if it is patch or not but I was trying to play with zilonite and it let us in game once and after my game crashed it didn't let us get back to game. Just said that both of us had joined the game but we stayed in room.

ANNOYING for sure, that there is really no multiplayer patch fix here. Supposedly there is a big one to be released in a month. Best way to show that it hasn't improved anything, is by looking at the games played counter on ToH. Still running slow.
The lack of proper multi destroyed homm4 multi activity... hopefully this will not be the same. I've been playing the solo/campaigns and the game itself is wonderful, hopefully it will not be snuffed out.

Hot seat is fully functual
I won't play multi-Ubi-server until it is fixed. I won't waste hours of my nor my opponents time on a failure.
A complete online muliplayer disaster
I am surprised NOT to of heard somthing about a fix in the pipeline for such a major flaw. Maybe it works for those who speak in squares

Another way to play is trough Hamachi.
Local network emulator. But seems the same problems such as crypts breack or newer dying monsters will appear...
May be i decide to play HOMM HotSeat with some friends...
Until next patch.

Awfull, i can't connect anymore to UBI's servers. It cannot go thru key validation.... looks like many players have this problem (long posts on UBI forum)
Thats what a call a patch, grrrrrr !
Why this kind of problem appears always when you have a free evening to play?

I realized that some dont look in the AOW in the HC.
So I tought I would paste where Valeriey & Fabrice Cabunet had an interview about the later patches & Q/A etc so yall can have a better idea about what patches are coming out & an idea of when etc.
Sooner then we think.
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/interview_aoh_fabrice_cambounet.shtml
Once again I still dont know how to paste it so yall can click it so either Ves can do it for me or just copy & paste it on your website

Yeah I read that this morning. My question is he says the next patch is for multiplayer and adds more maps. Does it actually make these maps playable? (That's rhetorical btw.) I just hope it addresses this sync issue or whatever you want to call it.
On that... I wonder if there are ports that need to be opened that aren't included on the read me. I suppose I could put my router in DMZ mode and see how things play but I don't particularly relish the idea of having my computer wide open to the net.

True but during around that time another patch will come soon after with Map editor.
Better safe then sorry, if the map editor needed to be looked at more, then let them do so.
Maybe it will be friendly for JB.

My point was that it doesn't matter how many patches come out or what comes with them be it maps, the map editor, or random generator if we still can't play each other. I'm not worried about new maps or making new ones, I'd just be happy to be able to play and finish the ones we have at this point.
