"Stocks are up 12% in the last 3 weeks, thanks to our new advertising campaign."
The mindless chatter of the boardroom dulled Alex's senses. As of late, he had been longing for something more. A sense of adventure, some might say.
"Alex?"
"Oh, sorry Mr. Estle...I have a killer migraine and its been bothering me."
"I see...anyways, like I was saying..."
He urged to get out of the boardroom. He began toying with the metal legs of the table, emitting small bursts of electricity through the table. It entertained Alex to watch another board member touch the table, get shocked, only to blame it on static electricity. The other members stood up and walked out for lunch. Alex got up to walk out, but was stopped by the chairman.
"Alex...I need to speak to you. These last few weeks, you've been different. Very...different. You seem distracted, daydreaming. Is there something going on?"
"No sir. Its just I've been feeling under the weather as of late."
"I see. I've taken the liberty of giving you a week off of work. Enjoy your vacation."
"Thank you sir."
Alex left the boardroom and walked into the bathroom, over towards the sink. He turned on the water and splashed some onto his face. He looked at himself in the mirror. His eyes seemed bloodshot and sunken in. Water kept running into the sink, and began to fill up. Unable to resist, Alex placed the tip of his index finger on the surface of the water, and emitted a small shock throughout the water. Suddenly, he lost control. The electricity began surging out of his fingertips uncontrollably. The uncontrolled burst poured out, like a raging storm. The lights began flickering on and off, before shorting out.
Suddenly, another man walked in the bathroom. In surprise, Alex turned around, with the electricity still surging out of his fingertips. The lightning quickly hit the man, sending him into convulsions. The lightning kept coming, and Alex was unable to break the connections. Piercing screams filled the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th floors, as the smell of charred flesh permeated the air. The man was beyond help now. The screams slowly died out, and Alex was finally able to break the connection. He jerked his hands upwards, and the lightning made its way to the lamp, causing it to explode right there. Then..it stopped.
Alex collapsed to the ground, the tips of his fingers charred and burnt. Later that night on the evening news, the following headline was all over TV.
One killed, one injured in freak electricity accident.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met.
