About the "the way of..." threads
Is it just me or are the "the way of..." threads perfect for posthunters?Sometimes when I enter this board(like right now)There are entire pages full with "the way of" threads. And i mean, like wtf someone can get easy to 50 or so posts by simply posting in these threads(and I know how much it counts for others how many posts do you have, btw nice job with now showing the posts at the user info ).

Yeah, people like to post in those threads to express their opinions on visual and other aspects of Heroes creatures. There was a boom of "Way of The..." threads a while back after the first bunch of them caught on with members. At one point, in fact, I remember seeing a mod ask that they stop making those threads since they were sprouting up from the ground every two days or so. It's a good series of threads to vote and share about your personal tastes, but sadly, it's also easy to let some spammy posts slip by. I posted on occasion at first, but I sort of got tired of thinking of new opinions for every creature type that was showcased. After all, I rarely gave H1, H4, and H5 a chance when I voted!
By the way, you haven't seen real posting sprees until you've stopped by VW.

Seeing these posts flooding on the first page with junk replies are very nasty. I think these polls are not bad, but better set a time limit for replies. Could the mods lock these posts once they get obsolescent?

The wya of threads are just for post bossting, they offer no educational value and they aren't of much importance.
Sure they may be alright to read, but they dont teach us anything, well maybe one thing.
And that is POST BOOSTING

Back in the day, you could log onto HC and share your Heroes strategies in the Library and engage in some insightful discussions (just as long as you didn't suck). Nowadays, the Library's stuffed full with strategy threads that cover basically every important aspect of the games, leaving very little to write about.
Thinking positively, the "Way of the..." threads are a reasonable place to express your thoughts without being too sharply criticized (not spamming helps a lot). Even though H5 is the newest rave, there'll always be some people who'll come to HC hoping to talk a little about the earlier games. Since there's not much to add anymore in terms of useful strategies (and the EV's will spell it out to the newbies without hesistation), these threads make good alternatives. And also, it's another way for new members to feel more comfortable posting at HC, as well as making a friend or two.

I would understand people posting at all those page all at once, when they got into the mood for it, or if its someone new. But I also don't like seeing them flood the first 1 or 2 page all at once.
Maybe should put them at another fourme or sub section? Don't really thing they are suggestion to game anyhow....

"The Way Of . . ." Threads
I enjoyed them very much. I feel they were especially helpful in displaying what the gamers really think. I found them quite interesting and was hoping for more.
The most interesting of all was the feedback for the "Way of the Paladin". I voted and thought "I'm probably way off the mark", but when I saw the results I learned I wasn't the only one that has been feeling that way. The graphics of Heroes II are sorely lacking and unequivically pale to the more modern versions but the concept is dead on. A paladin should wear a brilliant suit of armor, have a cape, and wield a mighty two-handed sword of holy avenger. He's looking to make a philosophical point as well as do battle with his enemies. He may even be the dragon slaying sort. He would certainly need a very powerful sword to accomplish such a feat!
The second most interesting was the "Way of the Skeleton". I felt very strongly about this vote. In my mind there was no doubt that Heroes IV absolutely perfected the skeleton.
The third most interesting was the "Way of the Water Elemental". I have felt how wrong water elementals have been designed for a very long time now. I must agree that Heroes IV perfected this one as well.

You are right, but it's not possible to edit a poll once someone has voted or posted. Perhaps a mod could help, but I don't feel like redoing mine... especially not after this kind of feedback. Seriously though, people should understand those threads started months ago, when most of us were idle waiting for bits of information from the devs.
