Is H5 good enough?

I quit playing H4 because the multiplayer games took WAY to long.  I enjoyed the game and the TOH community, but couldn't get over the fact that a game could last up to and sometimes over 12 hours.

I play MMOs now (currently WoW) because I enjoy the PvP aspects (not that I'm very good).  I have a fond spot in my heart for Heroes, but from what little I've read so far, the multiplayer part sounds broken.

Is this game good enough to draw somebody like me away from other games?

If htey fix the Multiplayer bugs, increase map size, insert random map editor and regular editor, Yes.

Also a same turn option might be nice too.

If the sole draw you require for return is good multiplayer than my answer to you is..no, not yet.

Give it a few more patches and you may find it to your liking.

Wouldn't most of the TOH community be mostly interested in multiplayer?

What he means is that the multiplayer part is unstable at the time. A patch that fixes this is expected in the second half of June.

I'm starting to think that the above ground <-> underground passage can affect the synch. In the beta, the game actually locked up when passing to the underground. A quick fix for the retail version that introduced new errors?

Lol, thats nothing.  I know people who have grinded over 12 level 60s.  Its not that hard in WoW to hit lvl 60.  Most of my guild has at least two lvl 60s just on our server.

So talk to me about H5.  Are you guys finding it to have been worth the wait?  How big is the TOH community now?  When I left it was literally a dozen or so H4 players and maybe a few more H3 diehards.

Do the games still take forever?  Can more than 2 players realistically play each other?  Is the Romaining cheat club still in effect?  8)

I wholeheartedly enjoy homm5, and like everything about it.  And I think once people get efficient, it might even be faster than a homm3 multi game.  But with the crash bugs right now on multi, it keeps the activity very low.
