I was writing a more a detailed explanation, but it is just not worth. It would involve some discrete math stuff.
But have a look at this:
http://math.about.com/library/bldivide.htm
it may help.

Strange, I thought I knew how it worked before. My mouse was on a particular sign and that sign showed up, so I thought it was cause and effect.
Now I am pretty sure I figured out how it works.
I wont give the awnser away but try the two numbers 46, and 23 and look what happens.

(a*10 + b) - (a+b) = (a*10 - a) + (b - b) = a*9 + 0 = multiple of 9

Natural numbers
Now prove that the same holds for any natural number (0,1,2,...), i.e. if you substract from the number the sum of it's digits you'll end up with a multiple of 9.
Just a note: For 1-digit numbers the result is 0, but you can still view this as a multiple of 9: 0x9 = 0.

2X all the multiples of 9 will have the same symbol on that page, but it will randomize the symbol and bring it up the next time.
so it will be something like
e>r.cnsm18(mcyeb&nme$3n8nce5?=+-euvne
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 9 10 11 etc.
The symbol is...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and then next time something like
e43,djen18(mdeob&uie$3n8noenv=+keuv76
The symbol is...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So each time, it will be different, so you think it's being all telepathic and everything, but its really just changing the symbol of all the multiples of 9 and showing that, because your number will always be a multiple of 9. Not that hard to explain. Unless I'm wrong
