Super Mario Sunshine!
I'm a little bit stuck. Well, maybe a lot stuck. Does anybody know how to beat the puzzle with the gopher guy in Pinna Park: Level 2? Does anybody have any advice at all for me on this game? Anything?Because I really like that game, and I play it every day, but I'm getting exactly nowhere.

That game makes me sick.
Mario was pioneering in NES, peaked in SNES, was awesome in N64, but, just, I mean, what happened, Ninteno? Why do you do this?

You need to spray his bombs to neutralise them and then throw them at the cannon. That should take care of him.

I played the first level or two I think at a friends place, before I broke his GC somehow haha
But look at the original
Super Mario Bros.
You can start playing it while youre supposed to be working, and you'll get addicted in 10 seconds, getting the coins, the flower, and defeating the koopas flowers and Bowser. The sheer randomness of it made it unique, an italian plumber who jumps around on these little monsters and collects coins, eating mushrooms and flowers to defeat a dinosaur? It's genius.
Number 2 wasn't that good
Super Mario Bros. 2
But was still fun, and brought in a lot of new ideas like shyguys, which were actually copied from another game but hey.
Perfected in 3
Super Mario Bros. 3
This game I knew every secret of every level. I still have it on my computer, introducing a whole bunch of new aspects.
Then went 3D
Mario 64
Was still fun, even though it excluded alot of the old mario features such as Shuyguys, powerups (size and attribute changes), but added alot of stuff which made it fun. I bought a DS for this game
Then what happened?
Super Mario Sunshine
Why does he have a robot? Why is he cleaning up psychadelic mess? It's just... it's murder.

If you ask me the graphics look better in mario 64 than sunshine...
Also you are forgetting one mario game that for me was the only one to rival the greatness of number 3...
Super Mario World!
In my opinion this was the greatest Mario ever, since it was the one i played most when i was younger.

I've played every single one of the above listed games, and Sunshine is without a doubt my favorite. And 64 may have good graphics, but the game is stupid.

gotta love IGN
Quote: From IGN.comEpisode 2 (Secret Stage Himitsu!) - You won't be heading into the park proper for this one. A Gopher Gunner is on the beach and is blasting everything it wants. You should use this opportunity to get the blue coins all along the beach (under the indestructable baskets). There are six in all. Use the enemy's shots to blow up the baskets. For the baskets too far around the corner or obstacle for you to get, use Torpedo Teds (the shots that home in) to get those baskets. You can stand by a basket and wait for the BOOOM since the blue coin you get will restore the life you lose. Once you get all six blue coins, you can also try destroying the projectiles for coins, but there is an easier way later to get the 100 Coin Shine.
When you're ready, approach the Gopher Gunner and whizz the Bomb-Ombs (turns the bombs blue) that it shoots when you are up close. Toss the watered down blue Bomb-Ombs back at the Gopher Gunner. Be sure to hit the Gopher and not the turret. Three hits will open up all sorts of secrets. Now jump in the hole in the palace if you go (Jump into the glowing portal in the turret). The disappearing blocks are easily manageable if you are patient, and if you have an innate sense of timing alternating between U-turn jumps and single jumps. A hint on the last L-shaped bridge: hop across the inner corner or you will be out of luck. Shine get back to town.
Also, you guys all forgot my favorite Mario game (how could you).
Yeah. That was one hell of a game right there.
After Square left Nintendo the rest of the Mario RPG games were only so-so.

I personnaly think that Super Mario 64 is better than Super Mario Sunshine or whatever it is called.
If you look closely at the pictures given by a member above forget who , then you will see that SM64 isnt as edgy or blocky, whereas SMS is.
SM64 looks smoother and has more colourful graphics.
I loved SM64 as it was addicting, had good graphics best at the time, good music, and was just pure fun to play.
I havent as of yet played SMS, but I might get around to it someday that is if I get a Gamecube or something which I might never get .

You are entitled to your opinion, william, but I think that if you ever play SMS, you will like it. Despite it's first appearances, it is strangely addictive. I honestly found SM64 to be dull and tedious.

no not exactly true im afraid.
SM64 was the best game at its time.
It had superb graphics at a time when nearly all games didnt have the best graphics.
It is repetative at times, but not often.
It usually has a spark about it that makes me keep coming back.
Highly addictive, may be a bit dated now but its still an awesome game.
For anyone seeking an old but yet very fun game, this is the one to choose

William, you stated your love for Super Mario 64 in your previous post so from here on out please stay on topic.
The topic of course is Super Mario Sunshine, a game I never played because I don't own a GameCube.

I looked on the internet for you Lady G, and I found a walkthrough for you.
I have just copied and pasted the bit that YOU are having trouble with.
Hope you like
Super Mario Sunshine Walkthrough
Pinna Park
Episode 2: The Beach Cannon's Secret
Normally I keep blue coin notes separate but this episode is really just a blue coin episode. Lure each of the flying missiles into the various crates and they'll blow up so you get the coins. Some are easy, and some require you to make yourself a living target, then when the slow missile comes along, walk towards the crate so it follows you to blow it up.
Note you'll get hurt doing this so go water the flowers to get some life back.
When you're set with the coins, go close to the cannon so he starts throwing bombs at you. Water one, grab it and throw it right back at the cannon. He'll explode and you'll go into a puzzle.
For the first part, just hop across and grab the life mushroom in the middle chest. Now go up the trampolines.
For part 2, use the B-slide to slide all the way across as soon as the row appears.
For part 3, do a run and jump right when they appear to get to the turn. Then do the slide all the way to the end, and jump across the gap. You get a shiny!
