Poll Question: Here's what I think about Campians...
I thinkt that they should change the way the campians are set up! I don't like the one in the thierd game because well... it's REALY stupid! It's like chosing what you wan't or what side you'r goin to be on whith a gun up to your head! Exsample:
Campian: Gardian Angels
Choyses: AN angel, Stupid Zelits(I think) or prayer (realy stupid to have) WHAT? NO ARCH-ANGELS?!?!
See what I mean?
Okay this is what its like in the second game:
Campian:Archabald's Campian
Choses for what you wan't to do:Slay the Dwarves or Save the Necro's Castle
Chose your bonis: Bilista, and uh I don't know the other two.
So are with me still? good. Do you agree? a silple vote or ripley will do fine thanks!

Campaigns are campaigns... If you don't like them - don't play them... (I think they're fine, and voted for you being crazy)

Campaigns are meant to be that way. You shouldn't be able to choose more than a starting bonus.
Campaigns follow a certain story-line, so this means you must be restricted in what you can choose, which town you can play and so on.
What's wrong in Heroes III is that you couldn't carry over the Heroes between different campaigns, and you often found yourselves developing all the same heroes all over again.
You should be able to specify more in detail what can be carried over between scenarios.

It's not about choosing sides; it's about a small strategic choice before opening shots are fired. It's somthing that's supposed to give the campaigns a little more replayabilty.

Yeah, some of the choices are a little lopsided. But if you need more than a 1-angel bonus to beat the second Good scenario, that is just a little sad.

It's been a while since I've played HOMM2, but as I recall there was no ballista in it. And the choices of scenarios within a campaign are designed to make you think strategically. The campaigns are supposed to be more than just a string of maps, and the choice of scenarios reflects this.

Well, I don't agree with your point, inasmuch as I can understand it.
And for the love of all that is holy, proofread your posts or at least run them through a spellchecker.

I love the campaigns - besides, that's where the entire story comes from! I voted for you being crazy, because I couldn't understand most of what you typed(no offense).

Couple things:
Coldfyrius: There IS a ballista in HOMM 2, it just looks like a crossbow, is an artifact and gives your catapult an extra shot.
LordTitan: I don't like the way the campaigns are set up either, but it's better than having no campaigns at all.
P.S. Coldfyrius is right, proffread/put your posts through a spellchecker, I don't think many people understood that post!

Especially those in which you can carry over your skills and such!

maybe the bad choices are there to enable you to pick a harder difficulty level?
e.g. the choice of a red dragon where mutare had to find the blood really made it too fast and easy imho.

The red dragon? I don't think that is the problem or the obstacle you need to overcome in this scenario of the campaign. I believe I'm usually selecting something else. Can't recall what, but in 3-4 days I've taken the other Dungeon in the starting area and vanquished the Heroes there. And I don't recall having a red dragon at this point.
The problem is instead when you enter the subterranean area where the enemy is strong and have most of their castles. Usually, there's a fight which is a fairly close call there. (Depending a bit on what is in the Dragon Utopia, which Oswald will have plundered.)
A pick that is really easy to make is 5 Black Dragons and the use of Armageddon tactics in the last scenario. You will likely roll over the enemy in no time flat.
