Yes, a major a.i. flaw is that the a.i. ignores empty undefended castles most of the time.

Another favorite was beating a signigiantly larger army using spamming raise dead.
I wonder now...

With arcane armour the unit does not die, I think it loses half of its hp or something.

But Arcane Armor is a positive spell affecting it, right ? Doesn't it get dispelled by harm toch then?

My, it might even be a breakthrough! I might have discovered something! Harm touch might dispell Arcane Armor!!... This is SO going to turn the tides in any battle now! Seeing how Harm Touch and Arcane Armor are used so frequently!

I wouldn't be too sure about that...It's not light magic or anything...I doubt it'll work.

Once (can't remember what map) I attacked an enemy town with fewer numbers than the defender. I hoped I could win by magic but it turned up that the defender was just as good as me. At last I had destroyed the towers and gate with my catapult and had only some master hunters left. The enemy had about 120 succubuses with no shots left. They moved to the gate and I thaught I was done cause I had little destructive magic. But instead of moving towards the master hunters they attacked the catapult and then moved back to their starting position Then the enemy hero used fire wall in front of my master hunters After that the succubuses came out again and I lost the battle. They were reduced to about 50.

One of my favorite moments is to kill 200 peasents with a lvl 3 hero bunch of assasins and 1 bloodfurry... You poison and hero attack the peasents to death while they chase you bloodfurry like there is no tommorow... doesn't really take anyskill but its fun^^.
And yeah Harmtouch dispells Arcane Armour (but i thought that was common knowledge...?)

one of my favorite moments was a enemy attacking a heavily defended castle with a tiny army (suicidal) when there was another castle with only one weeks worth of troops 2 days away

This is mine: A long time ago I was playing the map The Vampire Lord and I was losing I allready lost Talanar and Nickolai was just too strong, but I allready defeated all of the Spectral Dragons and the good thing was I look at the troops and I see Nickolai with only a few troops I thought wtf, he put all of his troops on Vladimir that allowed me to win the map since the objective was to defeat Nickolai and not all of the Heroes, that's my favourite stupid AI moment.

Ok that IS stupid Nickolai actually let you beat him. Wich he did that to mee, is spent a long time before I finished that map.

I`ve just played the campaigns for HOF and found wulstan`s campaign mission 3 quite challenging, until I found out a nice bug in the AI. The main difficulty in this mission is that you have to capture a castle which has a decent army and a high level (compared to last level`s cap) hero in it. Something like:
11 champions,56 crosbowman(no range penalty),18 red priest(blind,etc.)
and it also buys 2 magma dragons/week + has a defence post. I tried to attack them in the beggining only 2 dragons in and like 220 defenders but since I boosted light magic and not destructive and since dwarfs has no flyers I just got blinded and shot down, so I tried to wonder round the map and pick up creatures from dwellings and attack the castle a bit later. They had 1320 defenders 22 magmas and the same ammount of renegades. I had some 7xx defenders 3xx spierwielders and 21x bear riders and I had all 3 specials in light magic and I had mass endurance/righteus/haste and was immune to blind and had better stats than the defender. Sorrowly no deflect missile. The battle begun and after some time the defenders came out but the dragon stayed at the gate and unless I destroyed the ammo cart or the shooters it didnt start moving. I tried this on some other maps too and found that AI has some problems deciding to let creatures move or not when it has shooters with ammo cart even if it is a clear winner situation.

This is'nt really an AI moment, but I found it funny anyway.
Late in a battle...
I had cast Firewall on a preist, and my Bearriders were one tile away from him. Neutral assasins had joined me, so the preists had poison. Anyway, the preists turn started, and they used blind on my Bear Rider. For the next few of their turns they pelted my troops with magic while I was occupied with other enemies. However, each time they took poison and fire damage, and yet never moved out of the fire. Anyway, they ran out of shots at one point, and finally moved to attack my Bears. However, their movement triggered the firewall. Then the bearriders attacked and they went backwards BACK into the fire. They burneded and died. tee hee.

I couldn't find an appropriate topic but this one has the word a.i. in it so I thought I may as well post here.
I was playing as naadir the necro hero who raises ghosts when enemy units die. In a battle against an enemy hero I had killed some units such as sprites and blood furies (gotta love the a.i. mixing troops) and they turned into ghosts. Fine.
The problem was that after I moved the ghosts around to block creatures the enemy hero started using raise dead on the blood furies and sprites who were raised up in the spot where they had originally died.
Has anyone else seen this? I think it's an AI cheat.

Well id say a special that gets rid of corpses just by itself is a little overpowered for necro considering the raise dead spam. if you want the corpses to not be raised dont move the ghosts around

That's a pretty good point. To tell the truth I was more surprised than anything. The corpse sure wasn't visible.
I don't think standing on a corpse should make it impossible to raise them.
And by the way the worst spammers of raise dead are academy

Had a nice incident yesterday. I play vs. AI, Academy vs. Academy as it happened. I use Frenzy on his Rakshasa, but Magic Mirror makes it return to my own Arch Mages. Could have been worse, but annoying. Anyway, next turn, AI moves his Gargoyles to attack my Gremlins, thereby placing them next to my Mages, so for the next two turns, my Mages attack his Gargoyles with 42 % increased damage.
