Out-of-sync on 1.2?
Anyone seen a game do this as of yet? I had one last night.
Was playing a game on Land of Outcasts, and a few weeks in, I was "attacked" by my opponent...but I never saw it on my screen. My screen showed him on the far left side of the map, sitting behind a group of djinns, even though he said he was near my town, attacking my main hero.
Strange?

I had the game crash in land of outcasts also though it was during the tactics phase, both of us had the game waiting for the other guy to finish tactics phase... I would recommend totally banning the land of outcasts map from the tournament. As not only is it terribly unbalanced map, it is also riddled with bugs in 1.2

Hopefully i not meet it in 1.2...
And already finish 4 games. (not all TOH games)

Yes indeed it still remains at least a chance of it. I had a game with Bobbyohms go outta sync and Bobby and Karim had a game go outta sync after the 1.2 patch. So it appears that it is still possible sometimes...but have no idea as of yet what is causing it.

Deja Vu all over again
Yeah I had the evil sync bug bite me again. I was going to post about it but wanted to check a couple things first. I had a few straight games which worked great and then back to back ones that had the error. Coincidentially I had changed my game audio and video settings to max just before this happened. Although I can't see why in the world this would effect anything I have since reset back to the defaults (To be honest the only visual difference I noticed was my desktop didn't shift anymore when I matched the game to it. LOL) and so far Jinxer and I aren't having any problems with our new game. Once again maybe this problem is something we can avoid or maybe they didn't fix things as well as they thought. Just for the heck of it, if anyone has a sync error game try to note what you were doing in here. Maybe set the video & audio game settings to default too.
I also was doing a lot of ALT+TAB and chatting/browsing so you might want to refrain from those as much as possible.
IMPORTANT:Keep your eye on the thieve's guild. If this doesn't seem to update the info like hero stats most likely you have the error and should just restart. In my game with Jinxer that is good so far, I occasionally ask if what I see in the guild matches what his hero is as a check. Watch this and you will save yourself a lot of wasted game time if the sync bug bites.
I wasn't using my guild much (Something I need to correct.) but there were ?s on ALL of the hero stats for the enemy hero, at least in the game with Karim. I tried paying some more and tho I got more info the stats didn't come up but I didn't want to waste money so I didn't go all the way thinking they'd made a game change and stat info wasn't availible without paying more. But in my next "good" game the stats were there like they should be at the basic level.

I just bumped into this bug too while playing a ToH game vs Sovetcki.
The game was very laggy at the beggining and we even got disconnected, but I don't think that was the case. Why? Because when Sovetcki attacked my main hero he saw spellpower of 18 while I had spellpower of 21.
I had just picked up an artifact +2 spellpower and got +1 from planetarium, 2 or 3 turns ago, so I guess the sync was lost around this time.
I thought about what I have done 2 or 3 turns ago that could cause this, and the only thing that comes to my mind is entering sanctuary with my scouting hero.
But seriously I don't think that's the case, because I have entered sanctuary on the very same map in my other game some days ago, and encountered no problems.
My guess would be that poor and laggy connection was the cause, but then again - it seems like the sync was lost at the very end of the game while the laggy part was the beggining.
I'm confused. And disappointed.
I strongly hope that this bug will be more of a rarity than a common theme in our games.

Just re-thinking old idea - may be over-lapping time limit might cause some problems. I had a smooth game going on for about 10 days, then I entered a major fight at the end of which i was over time-limit. Afterwards all moves in the game were very slow and the game simply hanged up after a couple more turns.

Time Limits
Jinxer and I played without time limit but still had the error. However, he and I had saved and started again the next evening. In between that I had the game with Karim. In that game I know Karim ran out of time at least once and I did also. I'm not sure but I don't believe I shut down my game when I continued playing Jinxer after my game went bad with Karim.

Sync error.
Hey,
- Well I have played a few games and have I have experienced this too. I think it comes from when you have auto-combat on and IN-game replays it ( God knows why ) thats when I get the sync. error and my last opponant said : WOW now it lags.. - Just after I had replayed an auto-combat.

Auto COmbat Sucks! So if thats the case, I would suggest playing with Auto off.

I don't think that's the case. I always play with quick combat on, and I repeat my battles manually very often.
Also, the quick combat can be a real time-saver. Fighting hordes of zombies or gargoyles without it can take some time, while quick combat does that with no losses.

I also play with autocombat on and replay vitually every battle with the exception being when autocombat results in no casualties due to the fact you can do better than it can 99% of the time. Although I did have the 2 games with the error that I mentioned, I have several other games that have worked great.
I'm hoping there is something that we find makes this happen or makes it more likely but to be honest I think we will find that just like before the patch, it is simply a problem in the programming that will need to be further patched.

Dont misunderstand me... I also use auto and replay most of battles and bobby said. I was merely suggesting that IF it was discovered that using auto and replaying was causeing this issue....it would be much better to turn auto off then to only use auto and never replay
Ofcourse I have found the hard way that the computer doesnt fight the same in auto and live fights... For example in one battle, the auto results showed 40 marksman died only. I chose to replay it and the shooters shot first at my Griffins and killed 5 of them. So why would they shoot at my shooters in auto and then shot at my griffins when I replay?

Had similar situation several times. Most likely reason is the placement of units, albeit not sure.

I also find auto combat sometimes giving really weird results... like in one fight against like lots of pixies, autocombat told I lost a few skeletons, when I played it myself, the pixies never even got near my skellies before they all died (and I didn't even use any spells in the combat, just shot them with liches and skellies) so the auto combat would have needed to basically run at the pixies with the skellies to get some to die.

That could be the case. Autocombat has tendency to rush forward with melee units. Also, if your army is much more powerful, autocombat won't use spells as it appears.

Last time I checked skeleton archers aren't melee units.
And I have seen the exact opposite, with auto combat draining my mana at insane rates even in really easy combats.
