Dark magic is arguably the most powerful school, even if just for Mass Slow. But in terms of Armageddon, why would you bother with Master of Fire if you have Mass Righteous Might? Makes no sense to me, unless you want to stack them.

Someone who has armageddon will usually not have light magic unless he is a ranger. And it is a wholy different thing what you'd rather cast.First of all by the time one has armageddon he also has master of fire(unless he dislikes the ability).Period.Secondly in some cases it is preferable to damage someone AND have the effect instead of buffing your troops. The opposite works as well dependending on the situation. And finally master of fire works better than righteous magic when you face creatures with high defence.Suppose you face ancient treants(29 def) under the command of a 11 def hero.Total defence is 40 and with mof it goes down to 20.So RM->+12 att while AG->-20 def
But armageddon is not about reducing defence but causing damage and havoc Less suicidal heroes would prefer RM of course. All is a matter of timing.

I believe we were talking about Sylvan with Fire Resistance, so that means both Light and Destructive. In any case, Master of Fire may be useful against high tier creatures but becomes less effective for lower level creatures and only affects a limited number of enemies (unless you cast Armageddon, in which case you hardly care about halving defense since your defense is halved as well). In the case of skeleton archers, master hunters, succubi mistresses, etc., you'd be better off casting Righteous Might.

Well, why not cast both? First buff your troops with RM, then destroy your opponents' defense with AG
