Here's the Crime
Lonely man makes 30,000 directory calls
August 11, 2006
"A JAPANESE man was arrested this week after making 37,760 silent calls to directory inquiries because he wanted to listen to the "kind" voices of female telephone operators.
The 44-year-old has admitted to allegations of obstructing the operations of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone company by making up to 905 calls a day from his mobile phone..."
In The Australian
Questions for you
1. What punishment should the man recieve?
2. Who would you like to make 30 000 silent calls to and why?

Thats one of the most funniest posts you have made.
Well I think the crime should be that his phone connection should be cut off for 1 year and no phoning anyone more than once a day in the future, and if he does then he will get hung.
I would like to call an emo that many times a day, just to annoy the hell outta them haha.

Sounds like a job for;
in new york city, sexual based offences are considered especially heinous. the elite squad of detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are called the special victims unit.
30,000 times christ I think I'd go insane after hearing 'moshi moshi' that many times
but if he's paying for the calls, what's the problem right?

He should be forced to perform stand up comedy in front of an audience composed entirely of Gootch-type men.

To the female telephone operators with "kind" voices.

Another Crime?
Cleavage banned at school
August 09, 2006 The Australian
TEENAGE girls in a US city have been banned from showing cleavage in the classroom because it is distracting the boys from their studies.
There will be no measuring to define cleavage, but instead a simple sight test will be employed.
"If you can see the space between a woman's breasts, it's not allowed,'' Arlington High principal James Adams told Texas Cable News.
"It can be a distraction,'' he said. "It gets a little too low sometimes.''
Whatd'ya think?

Well I think that they perhaps should not be alloed to wear those types of cloths again where there are alot of boys or in public places with adults or people like that, eg, schools.
And if the girls are just wearing them or showing the "cleavage" just for the boys and the girls enjoy it, then let them.
It is a free world, they can do as they please, but sooner or later consequences will emerge.

It's a free country/world, they may do as they please.
If some boys have a problem with it they could just be placed in the back of the classroom so they'd only see the girls backs, or in the first row so they would have to tun around.
Forbidding it would be a restriction of the peronal freedom, which I can't support just like the ban of religious symbols (e.g muslims' headscarfs) in french schools.

I think it interferes with men's freedom to stare at titties. Therefore, this ban is unconstitutional and should be removed by the supreme court.

China cracks down on striptease funerals
August 24, 2006 The Australian
"CHINA may be giving striptease funerals the last rites after officials arrested five people and ordered an end to the practise.
Strip shows have been commonly used to attract more mourners to funerals, as villagers believe a crowded send-off brings more honor to the deceased...
"When the performance reached a climax, two performers started stripping and to show their charm. They even dragged audiences onto the stage to join them," Beijing News said, citing the television report.
Wealthier families in villages often employ two troupes of performers to try to draw a crowd at the funerals of their loved ones.
A hotline was also set up for residents to report on "funeral misdeeds,"
Has anyone been to one of these funerals? Crime? Punishment?

I think James Adams should be locked up. No, no, he's obviously queer and would enjoy that too much.
Come on, what else are the guys supposed to look at? They're not going to look at their maths books, and theyre definitely not going to look at your pedophile face!

In Italy I've heard in some places there is a tradition of hiring professional "mourners" for a relatives funeral. It includes a somber procession through the street and lots of waterworks.

Street language' ruled not vilification
September 15, 2006
Quote:
AN Aboriginal girl who kicked a woman and called her a "white ****" did not engage in racial vilification because the slur was common street language.
A magistrate from the West Australian goldfields threw out a landmark race-hate charge yesterday against the 16-year-old, saying the slur against Kalgoorlie woman Melissa Blackney was "the patois of the street".
Magistrate Kate Auty sentenced the girl to four months of intensive supervision, including 60 hours of community service, for kicking Ms Blackney during the April attack.
...
Quote: Dr Auty found that the girl's one-off slur in a heated confrontation did not constitute "serious, substantial or severe" racial harassment as legally defined.
But she told the girl: "That does not mean that I find that language acceptable; it's offensive.
...
"And when people come in here and I find that they have called someone a black ****, I tell them the same thing."
There is of course more to the story, if you really care you can read it

Any Racism should not be tolerated.
Just because it is common street language or whatever, you cannot hide the fact that it is racism, and we should really cut back on that stuff, and keep it down to a minimum.
Calling a white woman a ***** snow or whatever is racism.
Calling a black woman a ***** snow or whatever is also racism.
The Police or whoever was doing this, should really consider a fair punishment.
The Black Woman, as it said, kicked the white woman, and that is assualt and she also verbally abused the white woman.
2 criminal acts or whatever, and that is not right.
She got away with doing 1 bad thing, when she should maybe get 1 year in jail or maybe something a little higher.
This kind of stuff can't be tolerated around here.
She got 4 moths sentence in jail, but she should have got a little more, because racism is bad, quite bad and shouldn't we be trying to stop it.
The Law isn't really enforcing any of their own laws and stuff, quite weird imo.
I guess if the white woman provoked the black woman, then that might be a different story alltogether, because in my school, that happened to me.
This kid in metalwork was stirring me up, so I got a hacksaw and threw it at him.
I got away scot free, and he got in trouble for it.
He was asking for it, and luckily the hacksaw missed him, but he was provoking me to do something bad, and that is what he got me to do.
But that was 2 years ago, and I am a little more mature now.
But back to this story, something should be done.
