The Bridge between AOE3 and Heroes
Hey guys.
Well, I've been working on modding AOE3 (Age of Empires 3), and I'm needing some new units/models. It's very easy to make new units/textures, but not models (since the game uses .gr2).
Now I've noticed this game uses Granny 2 files, along with the TGA textures.
So I want to try a test and see if I can import one of these models/textures into AOE3...
You think one of you guys could upload a zip containing a gr2 files and its TGA file (or DDT or whatever it reads off of...TGA would be great though)?
Thanks,
Custer

Pity. Can't help you. Heroes 5 3D graphics stored in splited way. Îne file for mesh, another for skeleton and third file for animation. Ànd the biggest problem is that mesh is stored in easy to understand own file format of Nival, and skeletons/animations uses gr2. You can try Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault MOD SDK oficially distributed by EA. They use gr2 for models(including meshes) too.

That's the same way AOE3 does it. It uses DDT's as textures (easily converted), GR2's for skeletons, etc..
Just upload one of the skeleton's (gr2)...and I want to see if those can then be retextured, etc..via AOE3.

Please carefully define that you mean. Skeleton cannot be textured, it can only be deformed. Skeletons is prerequisite for animation. Mesh is a static model information that can be textured. My advise rest the same - go EA and download MoHPA MDK.
