Gamespy prolly closes Heroes3 room!
Today in Gamespy lobby, we recieved an info from a Gamespy Admin (not 100% sure he was "real" though), that Gamespy will end the support of Heroes3 on Gamespy server soon. Will happen when number of players in H3 room will drop to ZERO.
Despite the fact we don't know if this was a fake, I want to make a thread here, where everyone who is interested in playing Heroe3 online, can add his MSN address, so we would have another way to get in contact and get games going.
I will edit this post everytime I see new addies posted, so we can see all adresses collected in 1 column. I will add the date of adding behind the adress, so everyone will see when which adress was added. (Hope this made sense...lol)

Though I haven't been online for about 2 months, I will be very disappointed if HeroesIII ends up not having a shelter. Hopefully, this was a rumor.

Another point against puting your mail adreses (since thats the handle in MSN) is that they will get sniffed by spam robots and your mail will get loads ot spam.

i dont think giving out email addresses is the way to handle this problem if zone goes down.
the way to solve this problem is to create another heroes chat, so i did this:
http://deeptide.com/cgi-sys/mchat.cgi?channel=heroes
people can just play IP games.
it took some time and effort to set up this java chat but my hope is that it can be helpful too ppl if zone goes down, or at least a temporary solution if it does.
if people dont want a java chat, why not just create a chat called #heroes on irc.freenode.net? irc is a good option.

You use MSN? If so, what's bad about seeing which Homm player is currently online and contacting him/her at once? And u also can create a chat by inviting more people into that conversations. For creating a MSN account, u don't need to use your main email adress. Just use an hotmail account which will be ONLY needed for MSN. Then u don't have to take care about the mails u recieve on that addy...be it spam, commercial or whatever.

the problem is that not everyone uses msn. not all people like the same messenger programs. i dislike msn, for example, and on top of that would not want to install it just to be able to join a heroes chat.
others could make an argument just as easily to do the same thing over yahoo or aim...
a central meeting place like an irc chat would make the most sense by far. this way everyone could meet in a central location regardless of their messenger programs. irc is all about chat rooms and has many more options for administering a chat. more security features are available too. irc is the king of chat rooms. messenger programs are not.
