Where do you go to hear new music?
I'm thinking of the internet really. There must be somebody out there who likes listening to new music and then culling out the garbage and making a list of the good stuff to listen to.
Like a podcast or something, only for PC's.
Or like an internet radio station....

hmmm, interesting question. good is a point of view
if you have a start point of what you consider good
i could steer you in a direction. I might qualify
for what you might consider an audiophille of all
styles of music

I like good music. There's no other way to explain really.
If you listen to alot of new music maybe you start a thread here. Kind of like your own mini-blog, where you review music you've heard recently. Also, if you're really motivated you could post an extract on the internet for everybody to listen to. (there's no cost to this btw except for time. HCM me if you want to know how)
I'd do the same except that I haven't heard hardly anything in the last decade worth mentioning. There's gotta be something out there though, right?

Here's a band that I ran across. They were a real songwriting/performing band until they got co-opted by some producers, kind of like what happened to the Veronicas. (so they actually play their own instruments).
Actually they're only a one-hit wonder, but it's an awesome hit.
Secret Base by Zone
I have no idea why they're wearing wings.

If you're after music from the Internet, I could tell someone to go MySpace (whose only half decent function is to supply free music), but everyone else goes there.'
I have a few friends who find music at purevolume.com, it's free and music can be downloadable, but the site will take a while to load on slower internet connections.

Man, you know the music industry is in a sorry state when the best thing you've heard recently is an ad for smirnoff
also, anybody watched Idiocracy? (from Mike Judge)
these rapper mariachi guys from east Los Angeles had a couple of fun songs on there. Watch the vid or listen to some sound bits.

10 year resurrect!
I've found a ton of good tunes from yvinyl at soundcloud. He scours through soundcloud record label pages and plucks out the best stuff to add to his own playlist.
