Poll Question: The Shoppe
I'd like to see a shop in Heroes to buy & sell artifacts.
What do you folks think about that?
One thing: The artifacts sold should be stored in the shop's exposure.

isnt black market / artifact merchant exactly the same thing as your Shoppe?
and btw i hate those altar hero class limitations(only barbs and swamp can sacrifice both creatures and artfacts). if theres some erm script to make something like sacrificial altar, but without hero class limitations, post it plz. (for my scenario purposes)

I think it can be done by temporarily changing the hero's class to Barbarian class and then changing it back again after visiting the altar.
Try this (not tested) and let me know if it works:

!!PO998:Hy-1; [Store hero's class in PO:H on this square]

I don't think we really need anything for selling your artifacts for gold--that's what the Artifact Merchants in the Tower, Dungeon and Conflux town are for. I think that's generally sufficient unless none of those are on the map. But in that case, there might not be an "artifact shoppe" appearing on a particular map either, right?
Anyway, I guess a Black Market could probably be scripted to allow for selling your artifacts for gold. The main limitation is just the dialog box--the Interface is likely to be a little clumsy since we don't have anything yet that's accessible by ERM with tons of choices (to show all artifacts in your backpack for instance). There is that nice "drop artifact" dialog but it's not available through ERM yet.
As far as buying artifact--there's the Artifact Merchants (which restock every month) and the Black Market which (unfortunately) doesn't restock, but there's no ERM control for the Black Market yet. Although you could script a building to sell artifacts (and restock), it might use up a lot of variables if each building sold different things. Personally, with all the other ways of getting artifacts in the game, I'm just not sure if there's a real need for an additional "artifact shoppe" on the map.
I don't think it would be a bad thing but I think there are probably a lot of other objects that would be more interesting or useful.
