Why? well, it brings almost endless possibilities(with erm), some new monsters(part of them fits quite good in game) and new adventure objects(which increases the strategy in many ways) and so much scripts that keep you addicted for a realy long time
Even though it's bugged sometimes, hey! it isn't a final version, they are humans so respect all the work they've made since it started.

Vote 8. Agree with angelito that there is a certain 'odd' feeling about WOG. Hardly wogified a map unless my brother in law wants to play the new conflux. But, since the first time I installed it on my laptop, I knew that this is a great enhancement to HOMM BUT maybe for some people like myself (who still play the game after a decade btw), we would prefer have all the (WOG) option turn off.
PS. Love the stack exp and commander.

Voted 8, most of it's damned good, but IMO a lot of the new graphics don't quite fit (off the top of my head, the Commander Power Stones and the Circle of Summoning, but that's only the start), and it just made it feel a little bit weird.

Rate WOG
I rate it a 10++. I've been playing HOMM3 for years, downloading almost all the "English" scenerios and campaigns I could find. I started to get tired of it and started on several RPG that I have on the shelf - I buy most as they come up. My grandson asked if I had tried WOG and I admitted I had never downloaded it. I did 4 months ago and WOW - that all I can say. I've played nothing since. It reinvigerated an outstanding game to began with. Some of the maps written for it are mind-boggling. Strategy and using the ole brain to figure out - not just the normal "hack'n slash" (accumulate 50 Azure Dragons and destroy everything in sight). Again a 10+ and thank you all you involved with this fabulous project.

In addition to the above...
I so was waiting for better EDITING capabilities in HOMM3, same was with Civilization until I got Civ4.
And now, WOW!!!
Yeah, bugs, heh..!
I'm quite sure I'll ultimately end up making my OWN scripts that "over-write" the "original" ones - so it won't crash anymore (after LOTS of play-testing)..!
10+++
...and let's kill the bugs!!!

Quote: Like scripting against the block of the gate. Giving magic mirror against the mass berserk. Giving immunity to slow, blind. Casting automatic dispel every turn in special situations. Giving mass spells casted before and after attack for IA. Increasing the cost of tricky spells. Ban them under certain circumstances. Setting a precise point where AI must all point themselves (enabling armies transfer)
You can even script the AI so he can use effectively hit and run, so he will weak you every turn.
You can script EVERY creature to have up to 8 abilities and they can change from a battle to the next. Thats means that the hydra which you berserked at point A would learn from this experience and at point B will be immune to it. The AI to whom you blocked the gate at point A will learn from it and will have tactics expert at point B while you lose it. If you over use berserk/mass slow, those poor neutrals would learn from it and cast on you those spells next time they fight you.
You use blind/attack/blind trick? Well, AI doesn't like being tricked. If you are catched using it, automatic dispel will be casted from AI side in a random turn.
Anything. Only your imagination has limits with WoG, not WoG itself.
...And THIS too.
10+++

If you're asking me - I'm 67 and going strong. I find that being retired allows me many more hours on the computer!! Currently I involved "The Dragon Slaughter" and have been for over 2 weeks - what a MAP.

Voted 8. Great stuff . New map making styles , tons of scripts (still, they need some more upgrading ), great map makers, maps are interesting and the campaigns are exellent (mostly the campaign "A Life of A-d-v-e-n-t-u-r-e").

What's with always calling THUNK one of Fnord's maps, as if I didn't exist?
I was the one who wrote all that text Angelito hates, btw.

Don't worry, I always knew you were the creative mastermind behind that series of maps. Wait, wasn't there going to be another one? Or has the story been wrapped up already?
Oh, and rating WoG? I'd give it a solid 7, and ERA a 9. The bugs are a problem, and the ERM syntax is a little hard to get through. Java or C++ are definitely more readable.

There are supposed to be 3 more. I know it's been quite a while, but I wouldn't consider the door closed on ever seeing them finished.....
