Poll Question: Creature tournament-Round 1-Faerie Dragons vs. Phoenixes
Faerie Dragons or Phoenixes?
Give 5 reasons to support your ideas.
P.S. i saw lots of these threads, but i'll make them a tournament upon lvl 4 creatures
For me; Phoenixes; Their abilities are awesome, their attack skill is higher, their speed/movement/ad.movement is higher, their hp. is better, and a lot higher damage. Even if we count abilities as one, Phoenixes rule for me but i also choose dragons sometimes.

obviously Faerie Dragons, Phoenixes dont get anywhere near.
The main point of choosing nature magic is summoning. summoned units = cannon fodder. soooo. with some cannon fodder in front, you gotta take advantage of that and use ranged/magic power from behind. with melee youd take losses, with ranged you dont. now. if you dont choose faerie dragons, you have only got 1 ranged/magic unit instead of 2, so youll take less advantage.
btw i never called them faerie dragons. whenever i saw one, i thought "goldfish". imo they are the best town-recruitable lvl 4(blackies have too small growth).

I went with the phoenixes over the farrie dragon(gold fish).
The phoenixe has way to much to offer 1.rebirth 2.fast speed 3.high hit pionts.4.nice defence and attack pionts.5.nice growth rate. And the phoenixe looks like a turkey that is on stariods and is on fire.lol.

you have to judge the quality of a unit in terms of usefulness not necessarily strenght. and usefulness depends on the enemy. I will always take faeries against order (they're herokillers + they have magic mirror to punish back those genies) and phoenixes against Chaos (resistant to fire, including Hero spells, black dragons, efretti fire shield@attack)
you'd be a fool to take phoenixes against order. phoenixes with dragon strenght are not of much use against hipnotize/mass slow/genie's song of peace. a pack of fairies on the other hand can hurt the enemy heroes real good with lighning/fire ball. also remember that if genies make illusions from fairies, they can't cast.
will you turn down the phoenix huge advantage against chaos? just buff them a little and chaos is toast. all the enemy hero can do is to cast confusion... every turn (very bad trade for a high level chaos hero). the fairies are just too fragile, and also die horribly from medusae's gaze...
against other alignments it really depends on your slyle of play.
against life I would take phoenixes since they can't do much to slow them down. others may take fairies to deal with the tactics hero early on, but have in mind the use of divine intervention/angels's ressurection. get a bard hero to counter the champion's charge.
against death... depends if you go offensive or defensive. buffed phoenixes if offensive (also take griffins/tigers/mantiss) or fairies if defensive (plus water elementals/elves). death is a tough matchup for the elven flowersniffers anyway just think mass cancellation and you get the picture
against barbarian... just as above only it's more advisable to be defensive since you can hardly compete with their might. hero development+fast play are more important here than creatures. just make sure you can do something against those ciclops in the back row using water elementals and lots of summons in the endfight is of great help.
against nature: just try to develop the heroes sooner than the other guy. lvl 4 choice depends on the heroes you have. if you develop a general with GM tactics get phoenix. if you can develop a cursing hero (necro or order) you might go for fairy dragon, but this is harder to achieve and really depends on the map.

I demand a recount.I mean,I don't like the Conflux too much,it's way too unbalanced. And yes,the Faerie Dragons are hard to come by,still, they remind me of h1's Dragon. The Phoenix, just like the other Conflux creatures has a big growth rate, but it's hit points are terribly low.Yes,they have rebirth and they are the fastest creature, but the Faerie Dragon are better: 500 hit points and spellcasting ability, and the cheapest neutral Dragon in AB.

im sure i have read genies vs efreeti somewhere already.
and its obvious genies are a LOT better. genies are about as good as vampires as lvl 3, maybe even better. illusions are just overpowered. and they can cast it a lot of times(unlike eg nightmare with terror). so there cant be any real argument over that.
so take some other comparsion. this one would be pointless.

1. Effreti. The reason for that is that genies are outpowered by their naga cousins.
2. Cyclops. Of course, in equilibris they are outpowered by Ogre magi, but in vanilla Cyclops are a better choice than the greenskinned mages.

cmon. nagas are a nice tank. but genies cast illusions. nothing beats that.
and the question wasnt compare nagas and genies, it was compare efreets and genies. it was in 1 thread proved in a long long post already: genies leave efreets no chance.
