New Off-line tourney
Just a little piece of advertising with vein hopes, as I know that most of you don't participate in off-line tourneys
Russian site Heroes League announced new offline tourney on HOMMV.
Task:
Tourney is running on the map "Ashes and Sands".
Your task is to as fast as possible open all obelisks, dig out Tear of Asha and build up Mother of Darkness in your starting town. The winner will be the one who will be able to do it, spending less possible game-days.
Dead-line:
November 26th, 2006
Some details:
Albeit all obelisks are located in one spot of the map, the way to this place is blocked by good bunch of Phonixes 
If you want to participate, you should:
1.Download this zipped file, which includes the map and the save.
2.Map should be placed in folder Heroes of Might and Magic V\Maps\
3.Save should be placed in folder Ìy Documents \My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Profiles\Your Profile\Saves\
4.Complete the task and send the final save (by naming it as TF6-Your name.sav) to this email:
homm5@heroesleague.ru
5.Also you should make temporary saves each day and keep those saves at least a few days after the tourney is over (this is necessary if you will win the tourney and other players will be interested how you did it )

An interesting challenge  I think I'll give it a go if time allows.
One question, i see you posted it yesterday, while today there is a new patch out (1.4)
I'm downloading it right now, but I think the save won't be compatible

Glad to see that some folk from ToH might participate!
This tourney already is something like "best of the best", as almost all best russian off-line players agreed to play (and there are several dudes that are REALLY good, believe me ). So, if you both will participate, too, prepare for some real challange
Regarding versions 1.3 and 1.4 - most likely the tourney will go on both versions (as there are many modem users who will not download 1.4 and will play 1.3 and add-on afterwards instead). Meaning - you can play the save on any of those versions.
Albeit this is not an official tourney info yet, as the patch for russian version of the game, which organizers have, is not out yet.
Also small additional info - in order to participate, formal registration in Heroes League should be done. If I remember it correctly, Val is already registred. For Betruger - you can register here , it won't take more than couple of minutes.

Usually online guys dont do offline.
Personally i'm allergy, only did bout 10h at start so i learn buttons
Did play your map ashes however. Think is worthy. Only prob was too much in-game lag cause of object overuse.

Generally same here - simply can't force myself to play seriously, if there is no human competition involved. Albeit off-line tourneys is a bit different story They have several advantages (there is no need to wait for opponents turns, nobody is pressing you to hurry, but you still compete with other human players).

Glad to hear that you liked it
Lags - yeah, it might a bit slow down animation. But I hope lagging was not so big that it would affect gameplay in significat way. Also one can deal with this by lowering animation standarts in game options.
And, the beauty always requires some sacrifizes

As russian 1.4 patch is finally out and testing didn't reveal any bugs with the save, its now officially confirmed that the tourney save can be played with both 1.3 and 1.4 versions.
So hope to see at least couple of you on this tourney!

problem
When I m on 6th day, heroes receive a eror and the game kick me in windows. I try to load outasoves but it is the same situation. Maybe the russian version of save or map editor is not acceptable with english version EU).
Please, lets correct that eror in a few days.

If I remember correctly, the best offline players usually finish the maps in less than 6 days..
So this might be the reason why this error was not detected

One more russian player reported that he got the same problem, so it seems that its not the problem of language versions. As he was also trying to play the game under 1.4, it might be that 1.3 save has some problems with 1.4 version...
As I'm not a programmer, dunno what can be done about it (may be somebody will find the solution). Yet, as there is less then a week left till the end of the tourney, guess, only way how to participate and do not encount any problems for sure is to play it with 1.3...

LOL, well, 32 phonixes might be a bit tough for 6 days..
