Morpher! (Has nothing to do with power rangers)
Ya know what id like... no of course u do not, Ur not me!
A Morpher! Or whatever u wanna call it, of course name could be changed at anytime.
It would be like a building or an independent structure on adventure map.
What it does is it Morphs 2 different creatures into a single one with same skills. This would be kewl... For instance, you could Morph an archangel and a harpy hag to make a new creature with a new name that could strike, return, and possibly resurrect.
This would obviously be a powerful and useful tool. Some morphs could not work; some would work but would have BAD effects... others would work with side effects... such as with our archangel and the hag. They could strike and return but perhaps be retal'ed against because the arch angel could be... or perhaps it couldn’t resurrect... or lower speed...or attack, defense etc.
There are interesting combos out there...Arch devil/titan = Arch titan? Still ranged but can move anywhere in the map that is reachable on foot, and no retal hand to hand. Ouch
Just an idea. What do you think???

hey, this works pretty well
have only certaint comboes work, and have the creatures exp thing intigrated with it, so you buy say... um... a scorpicore, tag it with a red dragon, and you get a dracocore, a red dragon with a stinger that injects flameing venom, so its attack it like --
strikes with tail, 30% chance fire poisen, which makes it do double damage,
and say recruit a titan, and combo it with a ain ellemental to make a flying titan
of course, it could also create webs of creatures, for instance, if i am playing necro, and i get a castle town, i recruit a cavalier, tag him with a zombie, to get a dread knight, or a arch mage with a wraith to get a power lich
this could be a pretty cool thing,

Not everything has to be realistic
if everything was realistic in games, it wouldnt be called a game it'd be called life...and thats why most people play games... to get away from life for just a while

To Mystery...
Are Dragons realistic, are Titans realistic, are liches realistic.... is the heroes3 realistic??????? Nahhhh I don't think soo. If you want realistic, they buy a flight simulator, you have an realistic difficulty there, or if you want realistic, go to the military.
Anyway i'm just saying that there is no need for realistic ideas. I really like Anfi's idea, it's cool. But it should be limited ya know. Not all the creature could be mixed with each other. Lets say, you combine a Behemoth with the energy elemental and you get an energy behemoth or something, it should be transparent ya know.
Well I like the idea, but we have to diferentiate much more this thing, i mean to calculate every combination...
Please no offence to no one in this post .

well clerification...
what i ment was, like in the game diablo 2, the horodric cube, you could only combine curtant things, you couldn't make anything, like haveing 2 of creature = upgraded creature, and that, so everyone gets use out of it, but also, have some creatures that are hidden, they CAN'T WHATSOEVER be recruted ANYWHERE!!! but by creating them, by putting a fire ellemental in a devil to make it an inferno demon, or a void ellemental into a black dragon to make a void dragon, which can't be gotten by any town, and counts as nutral,
all creations would be on a one to one basis, one dragon, one void ellemental = one void dragon, and the void dragon would be relitivly the power of the two combined,
this is a better representation than the "dracocore" idea above, because that was me throwing things at this to get an example, this one is a actual idea that puts this to use,
so this is how you get say level 10 creatures, they are made by combineing level 7-9 creatures with level 5-7 creatures,

if you want to expand on this even more to make even more creatures... you could have new creatures from two other creatures u just morphed! course again that would prolly be outrageous

Morpher Difficulty
First at all, I think that this morphing facility means a lot of work for the programming staff. Not only for the facility design, but for the large bunch of creatures (with all his stats, images, animations, balancing) that implies.
It's almost impossible to make a general morpher capable of mixing every pair of creatures, but a very restricted morpher could be a good adittion to the game, in certain conditions.
For instance, if you have completely built two or more different towns and one of them has the capitol, you can build that expensive morpher, which allows you to mix only the seventh level upgraded creatures of your fully completed towns and get different Unranked Creatures (like the AB special Dragons)
As an example, in SOD there are nine seventh level upgraded creatures, and we could mix every pair of them. Remembering some maths formula and considering that mixing a Chaos Hydra with a Gold Dragon produces the same beast than mixing a Gold Dragon with a Chaos Hydra, the number of new spectacular (they must be spectacular) creatures is:
9! / (2!(9-2)!) = 36 different pairs.
36 - 9 twin pairs (angel-angel, etc.) = 27 NEW CREATURES
So, even restricting the morpher to only the seventh level upgraded creatures, the number of new designs if too large. And what if we consider an alignment restriction?. It seems logical that only seventh creatures with the same alignment can be mixed up. In the good alignment, the different combinations between different creatures will leave us only THREE supercreatures: Titan-Archangel, Titan-Gold Dragon and Archangel-Gold Dragon. Another three superneutrals and another three superevils make a total of 9 ultrapowerful creatures, and this seems more feasible.
Well, this only was an exercise of numbering before a long, long friday. It's difficult to imagine the result of a Titan-Gold Dragon mix, although this Morphing concept and limitations (all built in the towns, capitol,...) is another form to make the challenge last more than the first hour of the game.

all good ideas sikmar.
This actually got me thinking.. this morpher could actually be an element in h4 campaign..where good and evil find a way to make new even godler creatures and use them to try to obliterate the other side once and for all. and maybe it could end with actually the titen-gold-arch angel all THREE combine into the ultimate creature
and of course evil does this as well...
and maybe neutral too
what you think? a little over the top?

Important changes
As I said, this morpher idea probably implies too complicated changes in the game engine but... how knows! We can bet our throats stating there will be expansions to HOMM4 and, if they added the combination artifacts in the Shadow of Death expansion (and in the Price of Loyality one, if you remember), why don't add combo creatures when they launch the first expansion?

Unrealism.
When I said unrealistic, I didn't mean unrealistic like a Dragon or like magic, I ment unrealistic more as non-logical like in some games the unit is bigger than the building or like u said that the titan is the same size as a goblin.

um... hehe, that got blown out of proportion
i didn't say you could mix an angel and a titan to make an angelic titan (although that is a lickly creature) what i ment was have -some- creatures, which are NOT just random mixes of any creature you throw in there!! but have say a phantom, combo of ghost and wraith, it sucks mana from the enemy, and regens acording to the death rate of the enemy creating more units, some things are lost like the healing of self fromt he wraiths, and the speed of the ghost, but the creature presents a stratigic rather than brute force to the game,
but for those of you who are still just thinking of randome mixes, think of how phesable they are,
gold dragon - arch angel - titan
that sums up the god of most religeons, the knowledge of a gold dragon, the rightousness of an angel, and the bruit force of a titan,
ditto for the evil treo,
black dragon - arch devil - ghost dragon
that sums up the devil of most religeons, demonic, phantasmic, and burning hellish fire evil,
and the nutral ones, that takes more stretch,
chaos hydra - bohimath - ellemental (which ever one i forget)
we have a creature that attacks all sides, with super strength, and add in some ellemental damage,
names? how about
-celectial warrior
-diablo (simply put)
-??? any suggestions?

Maybe insted of a morpher building, there could be special campaign heroes with a specialty to mix these creatures.

I like the ideas of the super creatures....
