Statistics screen
Greetings, Heroes
Some veterans of the Old Community could probably recognize this post. I wrote a similar one a long time ago, but I've seen that a new bunch of very active posters are nowadays giving new life to the forum. So I want to receive some opinions.
What I propose is totally unnecessary to gameplay, I know, but I liked very much the statistics screen in games like Warlords II or Age of Empires II. What about a button to see some curious information? How many creatures have your heroes killed of any type, how much losses have you had, heroes you've killed, heroes recruited...
I think this isn't very complicated to program. Counters everywhere, etc. It also seems feasible in the graphical theme. What do you think?
P.S.: The statistics window should splash after a terminated game, to compare different players in the same map, and the number of creatures killed could be another factor in the final rating

Sandro avatar
Yes, of course. I suppose he's a favourite for a fistful of people, but he has commanded my forces for a long, long time and also has the best-looking portrait I know (maybe except for the new Queen Catherine). Anyway, the portraits ar non-exclusive, so there is no problem if many people take the same hero.

I agree with the idea of a statistics screen, although in some ways it's like the Tavern Info. Maybe that could be expanded to include specific numbers of troops killed, etc.

Agree with that. According to the numbers you see in the statistics screen and comparing them with the enemy hero in multiplayer game, you see how good you are...

Why didn't more people reply to this???
Sikmar: This is a great idea!!!
I always wondered how the point rating systems works, when at the end of the game I got * points.
I would be much cooler to see which heroes and how many creatures of any type you have conquered during the game!!!

What a strange resurrection
Well, I've almost forgotten this ancient post, but the idea is still the same. I like to see a good statistics screen and compare the losses of my different enemies, just to say "hey, look, that AI rampart is conquering the world. Maybe I should stop it instead of attacking his neighbouring fortress".

The Statistics page is an excellent idea. Currently, scores are based only on time, whether you have the grail, and whether you have eliminated all your enemies. Adding total value of troops killed minus total value of troops lost, percentage of all towns held, resource supplies, buildings held outside towns or built, etc., would really help the game and make it more drawn-out.

yes its a great idea i never even saw this post before must of been buried very fast.
You talk about age2 statistic screen but i hated this one since you could not access it in the game (like aoe1)
I think this could work as a much better rogues place in the tavern. It could show you a lot more information (maybe even maps of the areas) but to get this information maybe you should have to pay for it. The idea being the more money you out the more information you recieve from the thiefs/spys. Hope you like this minor improvement of the idea.
Heres another things thats missing i would like a screen like (aok   that shows you each of the towns creatures and gives imformation about each one. As it would nice to here some of the history of why each type of monster joined up with each of the towns. It could also show you the creatures stats and specials and maybe some art work done of them to make the game.

hmmm...
... things of great value lie buried deep beneath... but, to get to the point - it surprised me that this post came to pass almost unheeded, for the idea seems very good to me - and yes, it probably wouldn´t be hard to compose it and make it a part of the game, for though it be simple, i guess a multitude of heroes fans would welcome it for the statistical purposes...

This thread deserves more attention! I hope that the HOMM4 team is reading this, since it alone would halfway redeem having only four levels of creatures.

Tavern seems to be the right place
to add this statistics screen. It will be easier to the 3DO team to improve the tavern information rather than creating a new statistics button. And yes, the goal is to see that screen anytime during the game, not only at the end. I like that idea of paying for the info, or maybe the quantity and quality of info displayed could depend on different tavern upgrades, like the old HOMM2 "thieves' guild" or some superior building. House of Spies? Let's leave the name to medieval experts...
To Coldfyrius: I think the number of towns conquered is a rating factor right now, but I totally agree with you. There are a lot of things, apart from speed, which should be taken on count in order to give a rating. The speed demon way isn't the only one to master a heroes game, and speed maniacs usually loss a lot of timed events and map features. I really don't like to finish a map having seen only half the terrain. At least, the mapmaker worked hard to build a whole world for you to explore...

Yes! To make the stats screen available every turn is an even better idea!!!
Maybe behind the F10 key or something?
Or in the menu (What's it called again?) where you also can see the puzzlemap.

how bout dis
that would be the information screen, and i think alot could be put into this statistics screen, but this could hold some very valuable information and i think it should have its own expensive building (not too expensive , like 5000 or somthin) or the tavern should have a few up grades, like the mage guild, each level costs more yet provides more

Upgrading the tavern and thus getting more statistic information!!!
Though I think that after a game is finished, every player should be able to see what every player has killed and lost, like Sikmar said.

Have statistics on yourself fully available fom the start. You should need Thieves' Guilds to get info on your opponents, and you get all statistics ath the end of the game.
