Okay nice work GenieLord but like others here have said you can't make judgements about town streghts by the numbers. Heroes skills, spells, creature abilities etc really changes the towns one way or another. I have tough also what tows is the most powerfull in the game and this is what i come by:
Haven is the most powerfull town there is. Few really simple things makes it so great. 1) Train Peasants to Marksmans! 2)Paladin & Archanhels recurrection combo! 3) Only might oriental hero in the game!
Knights are only heroes witch have primary skill of Attack and Defense. All other heroes get less of these skills and in long terms that weakens theyr army a lot. Sure there are great spells what needs lots of spell power but the strongest spells does not require any good spell power from the hero! Light and Dark magic spells are basically these kinda spells.
The balance of the game is very good and i don't doubt that but i don't see any major weakness on Haven town. And for instance Dungeon town is very good in the begging whit creeping creatures and Empowered spells but what longer the game continues and what larger are the end game armies the stronger the might oriental heroes will be and also spells that does not use spell power comes more powerfull cause they effects are used againt or for the whole stack.
I play whit every town cause i really think the game is allright balanced but i would not take Dungeon town on XL map or other hand i would never take Necropolis on Tiny map either!

Quote: well wrong again. Why all of you count the full population when you can't buy it most of the time. The price in money and resources must be counted too.
Well that's turning it into a philosophical question. That's like saying you can't ever compare anything, because there might be a band of Druid Elders that joing your hero on day 1, which will give him an unreasonable advantage.
What we're talking here is not actual gameplay, but power potential in each faction. And I retain that if you want to compare the factions, the above way is how you should do it.

It's really quite impossible to calculate such a complex game as this one,
experience, creativity and guts lead to glory!

True there aren't clear victory from any town all are pretty good and it all comes down to players talents witch is better player but you can get unlucky sometimes but thats life But i'm deffinetly sure there are diffrence in some maps when you choose your town. Try to start whit desert terrain whitout choosing wizards etc. Map sizes changes the powers of creatures/skills/heroes and towns one way or another also.

You can use "Pathfinding" abilitiy or those nasty boots
Anyway, I don't play my towns just because "they are tough".. victory is not my primary goal.. I play my "favorite" towns, so to speak; and no setting would change that -- even if I lose big time

Good for you, spoken like a true captain. I got crushed in Heroes II-IV for refusing to take Dungeon. Now my Haven is finally good and I do not feel at all guilty that they are "too good". I play my favorite whether they are the best or not.
