Quote: I propose for a month games played on jebus template not to be reported for wcl rankings.
Just take a look at the statistics - more than 90% of the games are played on jebus, it is kind of stupid to play the same thing over and over.quote]
Much players can play only Jebus Sad, but its true
But bests players play not 1-2 templates, much more in my opinion

i got exactly same complaint from Polish player few days ago. Jebus is played too often. In Poland btw most people play modified Balance (BalancePC)... In Russia - 2SM4d(3)...Well i think it would be fair to include template dependence into rating formula. If someone plays mostly one template then he will get less points...I'm not going to make it soon, however i will do it for sure later.
One more comment - Jebus is often played in 2vs2 games, so some reports are double for 1 game - i think Jebus is played 50% of games, not 90%.

It is certainly more than 50% of the reported games.
I calculated it according to the last 200 reported games.
142 games - JEBUS
23 games - other maps, mostly balance, Giant War
35 games - unselected map/random M/L/XL
So even if none of the 35 games played on unknown map was on JEBUS it still makes for at about 70% of all games played.
Hehe , ain't we so cool ?

142 can be = 72 1vs1 and 35 2vs2 games...well maybe really 50-70% games...not good

What do you think ?
Then why don't you register and play inside Random Addict tournament? In my statistics the templates used are like this:
14 Skirmish
14 Crazy Cross
13 SuperSlam
13 Angelito's Fiesta
11 Road Runner
11 Balance
11 Ocean Eleven
11 Extreme 2
11 Jebus Cross 2
11 Schaaf World
10 Block Buster
10 3do (standard)
10 TrueRandom
10 Midnight's Mix
9 Marathon
9 Cube
9 Diplo War Cross
7 Quickie Jebus
7 Frozen Dragons
7 Panic
7 Reckless
6 No Holds Barre
6 Gimli
5 Extreme
4 Jexplobus
1 Triad
.
Just a thought...

Good idea. Btw i still dont see 2sm(3)d, 4sm0d and 8mm6 in prereport page. Much of my games was played on these templs, but we can see only Random XL or Random L

If you are reffering to Random Addict Tournament they are not because LRH Downloads doesn't have a speciffic rmg.txt file to create all the time same template {ex 4sm0d}, They are generally included there as "Standard 3do template".
In main tournament (regular) they are also present in the prereport as standard 3do template.
If you really like to make this diffrence it is quite simple to add it inside maps database... Should i?

I don't think restrictions like that are fair. There was never a restriction when fixed maps were played very often, especially maps like Desert War and Hourglas.
Why should 2 experienced palyers get more points when they play on Balance than they play on Jebus? makes no sense to me.
And what do u think everybody on gamespy and in zone had in mind when they talked about "Polish Style"?
(Balance, M, Rampart, Ivor )
No one is forced to play a specific template. But gaining different points for different templates ruins your tournament, imho!

I refering about WCL. But i think LRH need this too (only not need, if LRH players not play 4sm, 2sm, 8mm6 templ's). 8mm6 and 2sm(3)d are bests 3do templates(and not only) and better to see in Prereport Ofcourse this is not so very important, but all will see how often you played these templts, not only Random XL or 3do standarts (sry for english)

Someday you will see...

It is not very clear to my what are you saying here.. sorry.
What i shown there was how many times a tamplate has been played. That's all. It was an example of how much diversity you get wityh Addict not points involved. The points you get are same whatever you play.
Maybe you were talking about the ideea to force players not to play Jebuss for a mounth?

So we still have no reasonable solution. Of course , angelito is generally right to say that each template should count the same way. However, the actual situation is getting close to absurd. In fact, if you include balance template, this would make for 90% of all random games played. Noone is gonna quit playing if jebus is restricted in some way for a given period of time - let it count half the normal points or let it not be allowed at all for reports. Thus it can still be played between players, just the motivation will be considerably lower, resulting in actually playing something else. Why not give it a try ?

The best solution is to make some temps that are as good or better as jebus.

As if you play for LRH WCL TOH>>>> whatever... you play for the sake of the game... LRH just give you a better solution (I dare to say).
I guess TIME will tell. Good luck !

lol hot discussion. My idea was not to give less points exactly for Jebus - but too give a bit less points if one or two templates are played all the time. I would prefer to see at least 3 different templates played by all players
regarding adding 2sm, 8mm - i will add soon into pre-reports

Each new player that shows up in gamespy know how to play jebus only, because of the rich template.Jebuss offers to the player a lot of opportunities and choices to make the game more interesting but I think that there are many other templates who need to be played with other strategy and give you the chance to learn something new about the game.Maybe SAG should restrict playing jebuss in WCL for a while ... hope some player will learn to paly other templates.

Dosent seem so. It has nothing to do with laziness, it has to do with preference. What temps are as good as jebus? For Balance there are better temps than jebus but for entertainment?

problem may be not only in laziness but in points too. People may be scare to lose points for template that they never played or played 1-2 times only. Regarding entertainment - 2sm4d(3), Balance, True random are good and interesting too imho. I would like to try even more temps like modified Jebus, BalancePC, 8mm6 and few more. How can we encourage playing on new temps? Perhaps I should not apply penalty points for loss if player plays first time on template?

The best way play new template - with man, who play first time too (like you) 1-2 times and i always feel, that i know all, what i need about template, which i playing only 3 time
I like best now Russian style : 8mm6 or 2sm4d(3) + TE version and heroes.by rules.
