Quote: I think that you can be competitor, but you can't collect the schedules if you are competitor. If you want to see the schedules anfter 8 March you can but you can't see the schedules before 8 March if you are not a judge!
I think that the best way here is - one of the judges to collect the schedules and write in other topic the final results in this contest...
Everyone and his schedule. I think, and many other people think, that a week is enough time to mark all the factions.
Giving a mark to 15 factions shouldn't take more then 3 hours. The long part is to read all the information about the faction-what you can do when ever you want.

Personally I'd appreciate a few more days, but it's not too much of a problem.
Sorry I've been away for a while, there's been one or two internet problems, and I've been making a couple of websites for people. As soon as judging begins, I'll shelve those for the time being.
Good luck everyone, I look forward to reading your efforts!

By the way, dear judges, comments about the faction you rated are always welcome.
You don't have to, but it would be nice to explain the competitor why you gave him the mark you gave. Try to show good side and bad side. Example:
"I like your creatures, they are very creative, but your history doesn't fit HOMM5 at all".
Again, you don't have to, it just will be nice to the competitor.

Good idea. I myself noticed that 7 days would be very stressful.

Alcibiades retired from being a judge.
We are looking for a new judge. If you have any suggestions, tell us.

A suggestion put to all (but especially the judges) for judging:
Instead of, or as well as, putting individual judges' marks in threads, I thought it would be nice to create an Excel sheet with all the data in (i.e. individual marks for specific areas), and the final order of entries, etc. If this idea is liked, judges will need to send me the Excel sheet made by me and Alc, with one entry per faction (you'll need to duplicate the sheet by right clicking on it at the bottom - on the tab - and clicking move, then copy, or something similar). I'll then neatly compile.

Sorry the answer is no.
We thought about this option many times.
There are several problems with it. Examples:
1. A randomal judge can give someone he doesn't like a bad marl just becuase of it.
2. Not all of the users know how the nue judgement works. We'll get a lot of ratings like:
Quote: Race 5
History 6
Creature 9
Balance 3
Originality 10
And there are many other problems with it.
I can discuss about it with you tommorew, I don't have much time now.

I think you misunderstand me. You seem to think that all users will be voting - I still mean that just the preselected judges will vote. The idea is that judges mark each entry like they were going to (i.e. with the Excel sheet), but send the completed sheets, one for each faction, to me, whereafter I can compile the results and create a single faction-contest output. Hence your two problems are void.
Hope you see where I'm coming from and sorry for not being clear enough (and also so if I have misunderstood you).

I had the impression from the discussion a while back, that only judges would evaluate the factions this time. Personally, I think it makes sense that way - participants cannot judge, and all others can sign up for being a judge if they want to (but will have to judge all factions). Head judge has liberty to exclude certain judges, if he finds them to be biased or lagging seriousity.

This reply shows exactly my opinion about the whole thing.
And by the way, Baklava and The_Gootch are judges, too, from now on.
So there's no lack of judges anymore.

Judges, your judging time was dubled. You have 14 days to mark all the factions.
Is there anyone who thinks it's not enough?

Thanks GL.
And can we just clear this up - I am not in support of non-judges giving marks.
So anyway, what do you think of my idea?

*Phew* Thanks, I needed these days to make a proper judgement! The last days I have had some stuff to do and there's more work to do in the morning. I do have my free time but reading through all these history and faction details makes me a bit dizzy so I can't just sit an afternoon and read them all...On the other hand I don't like to pass them fast as I may not evaluate them properly.
Anyway the judgement day() is on..?

Mods, you can lock this thread. The recruitment of judges is over.
All the details were moved to here, including the marking spreadsheet, list of judges, etc.
