I Crown they!
Do you think that when you win a game it should say:
Your enemys flie from this land and you are king!

Very interesting question. But it is too simple. When you win, you should be asked what you want to be - a king, a dictator or a president; whether you will allow your enemies to flee, will make them slaves, will send them to prison, will make them citizens or will pirsue and engage them; whether you want to control all the lands or will choose some vassals, etc... Becuase a final sentence without any interaction is not great. And when you choose all the options, the game will end but your score will depend on what you have chosen. You should agree that there is no way to see if you are a good or bad ruler of your lands in the Heroes series...

It should depent on what town you're playing:
Academy: You have spread your civilization across this land, and succeded...
Haven: The army of yours have killed every fantasy creatures in this world. Humans rule...
Preserve: Once more, nature proved itself of being the supreme force of this world. You are a winner...
Asylum: Nothing more to kill. No more cities to burn down. You have defeated all your enemies...
Necropolis: You succeded in spreading death and destruction. Congratulations...
Stronghold: Another example of might beating magic. Mission accomplished...

...hmm, nice idea, and yeah they should probably be different, probably even a seperate dialogue for each town, according to the winning conditions...
...but I'm starting to think that perhaps you have a bit too much time on your hands...you sure do seem to spend a great deal of time thinking up of things to put in new posts...

Excellent idea. The stupid prepared mesages in HOMM3 just don't do it for me. I say let the mapmaker add in a victory message for each player, as well as the message to be received if a particualr player wins.

RMS...
You are right in that I think alot about what I'm posting (is that strange?). Where other people reply "good idea/bad idea" I just post my idea, so I don't have to make a new thread about it. I wouldn't say I have too much time on my hands. Maybe some posts look like I thought in hours, but I'm just a fast thinker (and writer ). The post above was made in about two minutes, and was not thought very well trough. It was just a kind of funny reaction to LordTitan's idea.

You may be right...
I'm so frustrated about the HoMM4 delay (can't wait to play it), so maybe I'm just wasting my time on this community?

imho it's getting straight to the point in the human town, i couldn't have said it better! and the same about barbarians, but i guess the 'mission' part may not suit the barbarians very well.
and here are some additions of my own:
preserve: we can mind our own business without interference.
academy: the perfect order has been restored and the golden age may begin.
asylum: no more rules - no more problems. those who are fit will survive.
necropolis: no one can stand in our way and we will never be fulfilled.

Well... You are talking about simple texts while I suggest something that really affects the gameplay... Really, why don't we improve the game by deciding what types of rulers we are?
