Well, I obviously *can* delete topics
I deleted my post and the topic got deleted with it. I hope now that we all can forget about this nasty event and have fun together as if nothing has happened at all. :-)

anyone can delete a topic they started.
...and making a new thread that talks about the one just deleted doesn't seem like the best way to "forget" something.

I know
and my intention was to delete this one tomorrow. The guys claimed one couldn't delete a topic if s/he has started it.

I think Valeriy wanted to remove that ability because Incubus was abusing that power before he was banned.
However, I think it's impossible because of how the database is set up. I think deleting the first post in a thread causes the database to lose track of them all.

Once, I posted a new thread. Then I made the first reply myself. Then I wanted to delete the reply, but I was told something like this:
"This is the first reply in a topic. Deleting it will delete the whole thread"
It's not exactly what it said, but I got the point. Is this suppose to happen?

I think...
it said MAY delete it. This is what it says every time you try to delete a msg.
May I ask why Incubus was banned?

You still can delete topics?
Ouch.
Don't want to remember what happened last time.
Milena, if you want to read about Incubus banning you should read thread "Incubus and El_Diablo have been banned" from this Tavern board. It was in page 7 when I looked it at last time. I don't want to start talking it here again so check the reasons there.
And I would recommend not to delete topics/threads that you have created especially if they are long and if you won't ask people first. Some people may find this action wrong as people "lose" their own posts too.

well, the thread she deleted probably deserved to be deleted.
If she wanted to deletet his one as well, I wouldn't blame her.
as for people "losing posts" - oh well. It's not a game to see who can get the most, is it?
About incubus, a lot of it is the "hard to explain" sorta thing. I had nothing to do with that decision anyway. I've never banned anyone, and I've never deleted a message that wasn't my own. If I see something inappropriate, I've been editing it and leaving a little warning note.

I'd rather delete it
but since it's going to be my second thread for 2 days, I wouldn't do it.
Tnx, Rogue, BTW. I appreciate that you understood my point.

Rogue...
Of course...
This is a sick game who gets the most posts and I think I'm close leading it...
NOT!
But it's definately not funny to see some delete messages that you have writed especially if they are long.
All the time and energy used to them counts and there would be no idea posting them if they would get delete straight away.
However in this case Milena was right. That thread wasn't so needed...

Long threads?
Never. This is too vile to do. :-)) But hey, if you posted once and it was counted- the post- why doesn't it later count?

Does the post count matter?
No, at least for me.
Infact somebody could take some post count from me so I wouldn't have so many posts. I rather have good posts that matter that lots of crappy posts. So it's the same if you delete them if it comes to the idea that post count matters.
But if you use time to write message with lot of thought in some thread and it gets deleted I think it's more than "post count" issue. Incubus deleted some threads he had created and some of them contained posts from people who had used lot of effort to make those posts. It's very irresponsible act delete such a thread. I'm not talking about your thread Milena but about threads overall.
It's like destroying old culture items that others have meaning. Like Taliban destroyed those Buddha figures some time ago. I think it was very irresponsible act and I wasn't surprised that some criminals there made even more irresponsible actions later. Now they are getting some cruisemissiles up to their...and it's right for them.
Just what they needed.

I agree here
and usually you and I have different points of view. :-)

I don't care about the stars either. But I don't mind if I have many. It's all the same to me. All I care about is respect.

I see your point and am happy that you see the difference. Some stuff of what I posted was meant for private reading and I later corrected the error.
