Moving creatures without a hero
In Heroes V, why can't you remove creatures from your towns garrison without a hero? Also, does Heroes V provide a means of moving creatures from one town to another (caravan) like Heroes IV did?

Ofcourse you need a hero to move creature from garrison... And there is caravan but only in expansion: Hammers of fate.

In heroes IV you could move creature stack throughout the map without a hero...you could also purchase creatures from a town and then remove them from the town without a heroQuote: Ofcourse you need a hero to move creature from garrison... Indeed, from this thread it seems that creatures moving without Heroes is requested by a surprising number of players.

Yes, if surprising by your definition means 14 people

Well, it's 16 % of those who voted, and a tied second with caravans. That's a pretty good score.

Umm, 26% voted (most people) the last option, that none of the features above are needed. However, I still don't believe that poll proves a thing, one way or another.

Ok, I did not include the last option, because I think that was not a proper answer to the question "which feature would you rather see back in the game."

Well personally I like the way it works right now.
For one thing, creatures moving on their own would be a big balancing shift and would require much more micromanagement.
For another thing, that would make it more like other strategy games such as age of wonders or warlords or total war.
It's arguably more strategic, but I prefer the system of heroes 2 and 3, the way it is now in V.
I would say that moving creatures isn't really a feature they can put in an expansion, but they just completely changed necro in a patch!
From that list in the poll I would vote flaggable water mills etc.

I found it awful the way it worked in H4. Creatures picking up resources, scouting - it was breaking all rules of earlier games.
And the definition of being beaten in combat is to have 0 creatures left, so if you allowed heroes to move without creatures, they would be beaten (not able to retreat) automatically.
Heroes 4 was an alternative way on the evoulutionary ladder; I am glad Heroes 5 descent from the basics of Heroes 2 and 3.
