We're talking about this quote right?

"Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."

The simplified opposite version into:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"?

And now for another Pascal quote...

"The heart has its reasons which reason does not understand."
- Blaise Pascal

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
- Albert Einstein

Life is a tragedy for those who feel; a comedy for those who think.
- Jean De La Breyere

For in much wisdom is much grief, and increase of knowledge is increase of sorrow.
- Ecclesiastes

Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.
- Henry David Thoreau

Tell me,and I might forget
Show me,and I might remember
Involve me,and I will understand
- Chinese proverb

Quote:

"Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."

The simplified opposite version into:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"?

It's the latter that's actually in the Bible. The former has been taught by various moral teachers... Confucious among them, I think. So I'm pretty sure that 'Do not unto others' was taught in China (and elsewhere, independantly), but I've not heard that 'Do unto others' was. Do you recall the source from which you got that information?

Shakespeare

has a lot of good quotes. One of them has been previously mentioned, but in a simpler form. I think the correct quote is:

"Maybe today may be a good day to die"

Anyone knows what play is it taken from? I hear it from a klingon!! (any trekkie knows that Shakespeare sounds ever greater in the original klingon) :-)
