LRH Nations

As we all know the number of H3 players has dropped considerably since the final seasons of WW tribes.
As such there will obviously be fewer players allowed per nation on LRH.
Cpcos as adminastrator of the LRH tournament thought it fair to give the players some say in how the system of nations will work.
Now,if there are only 3 players per nation and there are no points awarded for a loss then how will new players ever be welcomed into a nation that can teach them things?
As this will be the 1st season of nations how will The Round Table decide who are the strongest players so as to stop all the best players from joining the same nations, therefore disheartening other players who would like to have some chance of victory?
Obviously there are many things to consider and LRH would appereciate ANY input from the people who will play.
Any and all idea's can be posted here.

It's difficult to let players play with their friends as they like and get new players involved as well. Perhaps set up 3 player tribes and later recruit for a fourth player from a list of those interested allowing the weakest tribe to pick first.

I think that's a good ideea.

First important question is: should we loose points on loss or not?
Or maby loose gold on loss not points?

Ok first things first,

I think points should be awarded for losses. the objective of the 1st tourney should be to encourage more players to participate.Points for losses would equal more games volume, as players r encouraged to play as some points will be awarded.

Secondly the more interesting one, seperating good players, one way i can possibly think of is using previous ww and toh records. But in my veiw i think first season should go as it is, and from second on we can sperate from who is who.

could toss in some goodies for tribes that take on more new players like week of the noob where newer players get doubbl;e credit for games. I like the kidnapp the best tribe player where the best tribe loses a player to a lessor tribe untill he wins a few games for them

How about a player with a winning streak of say.....5 gets to pick a low level arti for his next game.....and a player with a losing streak gets to pick a good arti for his next game?

How about these. An artifact (bought or given) "mercinary coin". It entitles the owning tribe to use it to replace one of their players for any one game even in finnals with the coins particular mercinary like Maretti or Angelito.
After several weeks perhaps a "blackmarket" to all the tribes with points below a certain level selling artifacts at a reduced rate.

Also i agree that it would be a good idea to give a reward even for losing....small amount of points or gold........to give players reason to play many games

Weekly noob auction for a tribe still needing a player cpcos could post a noob who can be recruited and comes with an artifact/points/ or gold with his recruitment.

Ego maintenance fee. if a tribe has more then one player in the top 5 then they must pay a an preset amount of gold for the excees ego cost in the tribe

Well guys, I think we should hire in our tribes noobs as well, since otherwise they'll have no joy in participating. So this means a 4 player team would be best: 2 vets, 1 medium player and 1 noob. But as Devangle said, maybe tis first season we could do with 3 player teams and make it more intimate: only tough players, since noobs will stop playing after a few bad losses. And, of course, we can make it like in chess: at last table plays the junior, which can only play vs other juniors. And the other 3 players can play whoever they want out of the 3 better ones in other teams.

About arties, I have no idea how they were allocated in the past, since I played no tribe game at all. But yes, losses should be rewarded somehow as well (3 points for win and 1 for a loss maybe). Of course, if we decide this season will have 3 good players we can let it with no point for losses, since vets don't need bonuses for play encouragment.

Conclusion: 1. either 3 player teams with normal scoring: 1 point the winner 0 points the loser to everyone; 2. or 4 player teams with max 2 vets, a medium and a noob and 1 point for loss and 3 points for win awarded to the junior (1st 3 players gaining 1 point for win and 0 per loss).

I still have a different opinion;

Let's say we make 0 points () for loss and add gold to that NATION as a reward for playing that game?

It will be ok from the rankings point of view, and also we'll make ppl play because more gold means more arties?

If one of the players in that nation gets a cool arte, then even losses counts as well right?

And at the end more arties for sure means more wins for that NATION!

If I’m not right post your opinion. Somehow we'll find a middle line to satisfy everybody!

Yes, sure, more gold to buy arties for losses sounds good to me. But what kind of arties will be awarded (best one is...?). I believe something like +6 Attack/Defence the maximum, right?

I agree that it is a good idea to reward losses with gold rather than points......a player may decide to concede many games early on if he doesn't like his "set" a poor player could score dozens of points for his nation like this.....is that fair??

I think gold is a good reward for loss as well. I do think it's important that each nation have at least one "noob" as it will increase the number of players eventually. So the idea of a 3 member tribe of whomever you like to play with a noob off of a list of those who seem eager and have played at least a game against a vet. if the season goes well and more players want to enter we could add more tribes or expand to 5 members allowing the weaker tribes to pick first.

Nations will be a team based tournament where players from any nation play vs players from any other nation in the hope of achieving the most points and therefore winning the tournament!

The point/gold system on former TRIBES (WW) worked pretty well in my opinion.
Points decided which team will go to the play offs, while gold gave the ability to buy starting bonuses.
Starting bonuses will either be units, primary skills, secondary skills or even artefacts. The more helpfull, the more expensive it will be.
To reward players who play a lot of games, but are newbies or average players, we should give 1 point for a loss, and 3 points for a win, but gold only for the winner.
So a new player has to LOSE 3 games to get the same amount of points as a player who won ONE game. Sounds pretty fair in my opinion.

Refering to the number of players each NATION will consist of...
TRIBES had 5 members....no1 knows how many players will participate in that tourney, but in my eyes, it is very important to have many different teams. Better have 8 teams of 3 players, than 5 teams of 5...right?
Which players are allowed to build a NATION?
Tough call....there are many new players who improved a lot in the last 6 month, but never participated in any tourney before (like TOH or WW). So u call them newbies?...average? Who will judge that?

My opinion: Let everyone build the team he/she wants. After the first season, every player will have achieved a specific rank on LRH. When we will have such an overview, we can make rules about how many VETS / AVERAGES / NEWBIES are allowed to join a NATION.

My 2 cents...
____________
Better judged by 12 than carried by 6.
