Quote: oooh you started H2 after having beat H3 and was still compeld to play for hours, that suprises me in a good way lol if that makes sense.
most people i would think would hate H2 after playing/beating H3 since it had a lot of new things introduced into it.
Lost Continent is and always will be the best HOMM map. None of the newer HOMMs had a map that good.

lost continent. that huge island with the dragon land in the middle, right?
it seemed to me that 7 seas (heroes 2 too) was the favorite map of many players.

Omg is it that one in HoMM3?
Where you start on a winter island then there is a huge island in the middle shaped like a dragon?
And then to the east there is a volcano shaped island and in the middle between the volcano island and dragon island there are sand islands with lots of treasures on it?
That was my favorite map but I never found it as I was so few years old then so I didnt know much english.
Yay, now I can finally play it again!
But werent you forced to play Tower?

Yeah that's the one. Each town started with their own patch of the continent with a few neutral towns within striking distance. You usually ended up with two massive factions duking it out from each side of the map. Had some great games on that map.
Although I'll admit I never played 7 seas.

no, it isn't this map.
but maybe you are talking about "the dragon's orb" I think it's the name. it was a map in a shape of a gold dragon with an orb in his claws.

Well I think I missed the ball here on this one. I was thinking 'toony, like Heroes V and III, yeah I like that. For me realistic would be ultra-realistic. Although 1 way I might not mind seeing things (in HoMM VI) like that would be kind of a Total War approach. How that could be coupled with TBS would be difficult.

IMO, both HoMM 2 and 5 have "cartoony" graphics (creatures, portraits, and scenery), and I like the designs in both.

I don't mind a little comic looks - some units/heroes look fantastic, but then again there's also the Peasant and Zombie who look... meh
