Yes it does, and every single creature has such animations. The Devils have a nice one too.

Fodder is usually Demons or single stack imps.
Teleport or haste spell comes in handy for these troops.

Finally i figured a way not to lose that many efreets!
This may sound really noobish, but now it just crossed my mind so i couldn't help writing it down.
Assuming one goes in battle with efreets and devils+ some fodder(demons for exemple), it's most likely that at least in the first round(almost certain in the second one too) you won't be able to take the retaliation from those monsters cos your fodder is just too slow.So you'll have to wait and then "hit'n run" with your efreets/devils.The problem is that the efreets will go first(after waiting) and thus soak up the retal. That's when you may lose some.So i figure if you just upgrade them ASAP they'll have superiour speed than the devils so that now the devils will be first to attack after waiting. Now they don't take the retaliation away, but they reduce it alot, so you won't lose as much.
just my two cents..

hehe, this sounds noobish but nice that you have gotten it right though. Normaylly, when you have devils in play, the efreets will already be upgraded. Sultans make soooo much better units than the regular ones imo, cos of speed and fireshield.

hy lazy
I don't much about playing Inferno, but i think on certain templates like Jebus devils can be build week 1 and if you have the second dwelling prebuild, you can have the castle too.
The noobish part is that i hesitated on upgrading the efreets cos i didn't wanted to spend the mercury{kept it for upg devils}.
So devils come into play week 2 day 1 if you're lucky, but most of the times you won't have an aditional 5 mercurs and cash to upgrade the efrrets then so you'll have to get on the road with what you have (6 efreets and 3 devils)Usually i'll fight just about all i can get my hands on week 2 cos i want to have 5 ARCHdevils week 3.So unless i hit the jackpot with mercur i won't usually upgrade.
Now i realized it's worth trading all unnecessary resources and get those efreets upgraded no matter what before the devils!

Inferno's special building is one of the best 4ever.. After a big pause I went back HoMM3 again and played a big scenario. The map was very huge.. My starting town (inferno) was almost at the south-east corner and then I got three other towns (infernos ofc ). One was at about middle of the map and other two's distance was much higher...
If we used walking and shipping from S-E town to the middle town, it would take about 2-3weeks (even with logistic). Now this building allows you to do this only in a day!!
And you don't even need town portal and earth magic to do this, and also you don't even lose any spell and movement points ! And so all your heroes even your weakest one are able to move very fastly !
This building is excellent making your attack plans much quicker (foray!) and it is also helpful when you plan to escape your stronger enemies !
Anyway I really like playing with inferno because it has some very interesting troops. I love arch devils... and they look really nice Efreets are nice and pit lords are maybe one of the most important units in this town but I hardly use demon-farming because I'm too lazy.. A good combination: stronghold+inferno! Take ABs, efreets, behemoths, thunderbirds, wolf riders, orcs and ogres so you will have enough fast and flying units (stronghold has only one flyer and units are not really fast but inferno will solve this problem with these 2 units) and they will deal so much dmg that your enemies can do nothing.. (inferno hasn't so much strong units but strongold will help in this problem)
And btw, inferno gets easily a spell named 'armageddon'. So when you get this spell, you can sacrifice your scouts to make your opponents weaker or you can take only efreets (fire immunity) and make hit+run tactic..

Quote: If we used walking and shipping from S-E town to the middle town, it would take about 2-3weeks (even with logistic).
In my experience, I often find having view air at expert air and view earth at expert earth around week 2 or early week 3 (and sometimes even week 1), from this point or slightly before, many of my heroes will drop exploring into still unknown territories, unless there are areas with a lot of treasures, and start forming a chain, so I can quickly advance. I imagine you can cover a line across most of the map with a 5-6 hero chain relatively early in the game.

If I recall correct all evil towns can get armageddon, which means Dungeon, Inferno and Necropolis (if you include the grail, then Conflux can also get this spell). However dungeon have the highest probability around 10% if I recall correct. Not that there's anything wrong with efreeti + armageddon despite dungeons seems to have better odds (faster immune creature, more health for more armageddons, and higher odds at getting armageddon), but if your opponent allow for hit&run, you can go for scout war tactics and get mage guild level 4 earlier than pit lords in stead of going straight for demon farming, and if all goes well you can have efreeti sultans + armageddon early week 2, and if it doesn't go well, it doesn't really change that much and you still have good chances at getting some other useful spell for your scouts to use via hit&run.

In the beginning I used to think of Inferno and Fortress for being the weakest races, but now I really enjoy playing with Inferno. Yeah, imps are quite weak. REALLY weak, I mean, I don't like the gogs either, but All other units are really in place with Cerberi and Efreets on top.

If you already know this, then nevermind this post. Otherwise, it doesn't matter that imps and gogs are horrible for their level/tier, because you can buy a couple of pit lords [make sure it's the right amount, you summon 50 hp pr. pit lord], attack neutral monsters, use meteor storm (or another method of disposing your imps) and then use your pit lords to change your imps into demons.
Though the amount of imps/gogs/etc. to demons weakens your initial strength, it's important to consider it improves the total stack of demons and thereby actually improves your final strength. (As long as the unit does not have more hit points than the demon, unless we're talking about units from different town with close to equal growth rate)

Inferno are Ok.
I have found that their success is extremely dependable on a large number of factors or chain of events, getting going with them is kinda hard aswell, their low tier is poor in my opinion.
1 ranged unit is a pain aswell, but I like how they have 2 no retaliation units.
