A world flag, or flag of independance
The world is seperated by humans into pieces of lands we call nations, states, districts, counties, countries, ect. The people living there are subjected to a state or nation flag which represents something majorly to do with big wig polititians and rich people.
I am in America, but honestly, there is no where I really want to be on the basis of what places stand for combined with how they go about standing up for what they believe in.
Wouldnt it be a nifty idea... To have a true flag of independance and peace? A flag which represents certain ideas like the following:
"Sure, we live in a particular province, but our beliefs are in world peace and harmony. We believe in working to make the economy better for ALL the world. We believe in helping the world maintain itself in the long run. We dont believe in rich peoples wars or terrorisim."
Just a thought.... Maybe

the only way for humanity to unite like this before we end up killing ourselves and this little blue rock is for us to have someone else to fight, outside the borders of our little world... and if a government can violate freedoms in the blink of an eye with the pretense of safety now (and no, the US of A don't have the patent on this, its been done by all the governments to some extend), I don't dare imagine what a global government will do if there is an outside threat, percieved or real

There are people with an opinion like that. They have a flag.
Anarchy could unfortunately never work, as it is solely based on self-consciousness of people. As long as there are people like industrialists, corrupt politicians, corporate suits and other parasites, we'll just drown deeper and deeper... And probably drag the entire planet with us. So, in the long run, we're all pretty much in crap up to our necks. I'm even getting used to it...

Nah, we 'just' need to move the monopoly of violence to some above-national level; look at the EU.

what if, purely hypothetically speaking, one huge alien empire attacked and then we were all seperated into little nations with minor differences and lack of collective strength?
then we'd realize how stupid the petty land squabbles actually are...
not that an alien empire would have much reason to attack us

I admit the possibilities that I am wrong, but I must argue that a world flag of harmony would not -right away- turn into a government of its own. It would be generations for that, and if done properly it could be really great. (i wont go into a bunch of ideas about a new form of world economics, ect but it could be cost and enviromentaly friendly) It would be sort of like democratic comunisim.. NOT communisim.
The general idea would collaberate a voice of the world saying peace harmony, and no racisim... Things like that.
Also, its not anarchy, and no government lol xD
A world voice could affect our governments for the better.

You sound like a hippie to me, Celfious. Nothing wrong in that, the idea is nice.
I see myself as a realist. In order to make this world a better place you have to start at the beginning; not at the place you want to end.
But tell us how you think the world shuold be arranged.

Thanks. I would like to go into my ideas but its complicated so I will only explain a little bit, starting within neighboorhoods.
Ok, on each city block there would be one office, which has a cable guy/electritian, carpenter, engineer, ect.. They are paid by the neighboorhood to maximise property efficiency. Not only are the problems fixed, but the property is maximised, and geared twoards a few goals, one of which is earth friendly, another goal is to increase property value.
Instead of landlords and government collecting from property, it goes into the neighboorhood. If there is an abundance of extra then property rents go down, and the extra goes to help somewhere else.
The workers might have helpers employed, or contracted from a larger district office. The larger district office is over a particular group of city blocks. I hope you get the idea..
Another thing which would come out of this organization is a new form of neighboorhood improvment and crime fighting. We could take votes against drugs, and bring in dogs to find them, we could set up cameras, ect.. The landlord and government collecting property tax is the main reason why we dont have enough money to put into our neighboorhoods.
I am against capitolisim ONLY when it hurts consumers, and landlords are similar to capitolists.
This neighborhood idea is strong realistic fantasy that will probably never be a reality, but the world flag idea is a different story. I feel it could be done and I'm serious about starting it one day, having no dictators other than peace and harmony itself

cool lol.. It is not impossible though. Hippies are cool and all but their image was tarnished with drug use.
With money like donald trumps it would be a sure thing. Make a proffesional looking flag with colors involving peace, nature, and solidity (unity). Market them cheap or free, advertise, then suddenly your on the news and people who are for peace would get them.
worldflag.com is close to the right idea.... Their art sucks and its a "USA" corperation. What a waste of webspace. They cant even do HTML beyond basic.
How stupid must one be to claim that world flag of peace is US made from a US corp, in the first line of their "scoop"?
